I have the system for quite a long time i have been using it with Yamaha v2500 ,it is as its best with acoustic music but not so great on TV Home theater . The reason is that the Center speaker is the same as all the other sattelites and i find this a bit underpowered ,thought of just changing the center but i dont know if it will be appropiate to have another brand next to majestical CABASSE

Strength:

Small and unobtrusive satellites, flat frequency response, good integration with the subwoofer. Generally a more musical, balanced surround sound system. Good price.

Weakness:

Noticeably directional at higher frequencies, midrange is a bit thin if the satellites are placed far from the listener.

I have used this system for about half a year now, and have played a variety of movies as well as my cd collection on the system. This is my first proper speaker system purchase. I am using it with a Denon AVR-1905 AV receiver and a Pioneer DV-366 DVD player (connected only by optical SPDIF), both at the low end of the price range as far as I can tell. After tweaking with the crossover, volume and phase controls on the sub, I have found that the sub integrates very well with the satellites (provided the Max! passive crossover supplied is used). In general, the response of the system is quite flat over the frequency range (within 6 ft of the sats), transients are fine, and bass is good. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to compare it with the benchmark KEF KHT system, however I did compare it with the KEF Q-series floorstanders just for contrast, and found the XO2 to be behind in lower midrange and soundstaging. Nevertheless, it is a very good (musical) system for the money, and is ahead of the KHT series in fitting into the decor of your living room, IMHO. Note that the price is in Singapore dollars.

N.B. The sub couples quite strongly to room resonance modes (ie. becomes boomy). I had some success with putting the sub on a very sturdy shelf 3 ft off the floor. Also note that I found the crossover point for the sub was high enough that it had to be placed as near the center between the front sats as was feasible.

Customer Service

Speaker package includes wires and stands, so no further purchase necessary beyond dvd player and av receiver. Service was good, including help with installation of speakers.
