After reading reviews on different sites with comments and try to heard actual sound of Bose Acousticmass 15 series iii supported with Onkyo TX-NR727 at the bose authorized dealer shop, Wow! Sound amazing….. I bought right away the two units Onkyo TX-NR727 185w/channel + Bose Acousticmass 15 series iii that match with quality sound….I am not a Bose fanatic nor audiophile expert but I love it the way it is, boomy Bass and the Creepy sound coming from different small speaker arrays a clear vocal sound with THX for movie, for the first time I did not appreciate the sound but after a long time of tune up or adjustment finally I found the right tunes to blow you away…..To those who are against with bose sorry may be we hear it differently but I love the Sound.

Terible sound!
I highly recomend not spending $1,000.00 or more for a piece of crap speaker that sounds like an old lady yelling at me. Dont buy this or your money goes down the toilet!
This is why it sound terible...
1. Not clear
2. Its only loud because of so much static
3. It cracks too much
4. The name is retarded
If you want good speakers get Klipsch or any other Klipsch brand, Yamaha, Pioneer, or Polk Audio. Now have a great day everyone!

very very good speakers, the tiny cubes go from 1khz to 8khz and the module from 20hz to 1khz so all you need to do is just add a tweeter pumping from 8khz to 20khz and all you'll need is a powerful receiver and a bowl of popcorn, sit back and enjoy!!!

I am a serious audiophile, I recently purchased a Bose AM16. Here is a very accurate & unbiased experience.
The size & configuration are good. It is an excellent subwoofer giving a very low down, accurate, un directional & bass with no driver fatigu fit for music & movies. The cubes are a real compromise lacking in the high frequency & low mid frequence response but above average performance in terms of the size & placing versatility.
A graphic equalizer can be used to improve the situation if you are music listener, specially Jazz.
These speakers are not meant for serious music experience but does justice to movie watching.

Best Surround set ever!
Great sound! Perfect for movies and also ideal for music.
The Bose set produces a very warm sound en can blast every simelar set away.
I use this set in combination with a Denon avr3806 and a Denon 3910 dvd player, take you're time to adjust all the settings, tis is very important, if not done well the sound will be very, I mean very very poor! The active subwoofer is powerfull, the bass settings on my receiver are set to -4, otherwise my house is shaking when put on in high volume.

I can recomend this set to everyone, the sound is great and the desing is superb, I'm shure you can find better sound for 1900Euro, but I'm not willing to mess up my interiour by some big fat speakers.

I find it very strange that people wright bad reviews for this system, I think they never have seen/hear them or they probebly connect them on a very bad receiver... don't forget, there are people who say everything is bad they can't pay!

OK, now seriously, Bose just plain sucks.

This system retails for about 2500 bucks (swiss bucks that is) in this country.

And the sound is just plain awful. Everyone who thinks it sounded "excellent" never actually heard a really good sound system.

For that price you can get an Onky 5.1 Receiver and some Canton Speakers (floorstands in front, if you want) and have a *MUCH* better sound experience. also, this bose soundsystem's build quality is just awful. i dont think it would laster longer than 10-15 years.

It is a general good advice to just stay away from BOSE.

If you're looking for some good bang-for-the-buck buy an Onkyo Amp (stereo or multichannel) and Canton Loudspeakers.

Canton Loudspeakers (e.g. the GLE 490 for ~1000 us dollars a pair) And Onkyo amps (e.g. the A-9755 for about 700-800 USD) give you the most bang for the buck.

and seriously, you won't need more bang than that. EVER. unless you're an 'audiophile' prick who thinks tubes and vinyl are teh only true way to listen to music and that strawberries taste best with crap on top of it.

Strength:

Compact, easy to put together, that's where it ends.

Weakness:

Everything else, poor frequency response, no deep bass at all, cheap untreated manilla hemp paper for the 2.5" speakers that are supposed to cover decent frequencies....sorry, physics don't lie.

BOSE speakers are a joke.

Buyer Beware the "bass" module only goes down to 46Hz (most less expensive speaker systems will go down to 29 or 30Hz such as the Energy Take 5.2 and even cheap Paradigm speaker packages). The Bose Bass module reaches up to 200Hz. Here is where the problem begins... The little cube speakers go down to 280Hz. So you are missing sound from 200Hz to 280Hz. If you listen to music or use these for Home theater, then you will be missing a pretty important part of the sound spectrum. But wait! That's not it! The cube speakers only go up to 13KHz (Human hearing can reach 20KHz). Bose has decided for you that anything above 13Khz is not important. Well, like I said before... If you use these for music or Home Theater you will be missing a lot. Unbelievable! Due to the system's internal crossover, there is an audible gap from 200Hz to 280Hz and from 13KHz to 20Khz. THAT MEANS ONLY 66% OF THE ACTUAL RECORDING OR MOVIE IS BEING PLAYED BACK TO YOU!! This is the most outrageously overpriced speaker system I have ever heard. Please do yourself a favor and go listen to other products. If you can't go to a decent audio store to audition speakers and your ONLY option is Best Buy or Circuit City, then spend less money and get the Athena speakers or JBL speakers or Klipsch speakers. Much better options (not available at chain stores yet they are probably available at a decent audio shop near you) would be speaker offerings from Energy, Paradigm, Gallo(very small speakers but impressive sound), B&W... and great bargains on terrific subwoofers can be found if you look at SVS or HSU subwoofers (not extremely expensive but great bang for the buck). Ask yourself this? Who told you Bose makes great speakers? Radio Commercial? (paid for by Bose) Magazine Advertisement? (paid for by Bose) Infomercial??? A person who owns Bose and has never ventured outside of Sam's Club or Best Buy to listen to speakers? Please, before spending your hard earned money, do some research on these speakers. Search the message boards at audio websites such as Audiogon, Audio Asylum, Sound and Vision, AVS forum, etc. etc. I don't expect everyone to take my word as Golden and I completely understand. Just do some research about these speakers!!! I probably can't post links but this will get you started... look for discussion forums at Web sites such as Audiogon, Audio Asylum, Sound and Vision Mag, and AVS forum.

Read up yourself, this is more overpriced, underperforming garbage from BOSE.

Strength:

PERFECT IN DESIGN, CLARITY AND SOUND QUALITY.

Weakness:

PRICE??? YOU PAY WHAT YOU GET FOR THE BEST

Surround yourself with riveting movie sound and superb musical performances with the best 6.1-channel home entertainment speaker system BOSE AM16. I paired this with Onkyo Surround Sound Receiver (TX-SR602). IF YOU HAVE BOSE AM15 this is also a perfect combination. IF you want to upgrade your BOSE AM15 to make it AM16 you can buy the upgrade system kit online from $175 (amazon.com) - $199 (bestbuy.com)

This entire system was great and the sound quality was so nice. For this small size, you won't be able to find the speakers set like this. I really love it.
