Review 2 of 7

Price Paid:  $350.00 from Sears

Summary:
I bought these speakers in Sears I use them as stereo main spks for classical music. Very important to put the speakers on sturdy base! My stands are hardstone slabs (320x350mm, and 40mm thick)with spikes. The Yamahas produce superb sound on these stands however I never select "loudness" on my amp...

Strengths:
Musical instrument like sound; balanced crossover; good sound spectrum

Weaknesses:
Lack of detailed performance (for instance a chart) in manual, though this is not a real weakness

Similar Products Used:
Philips Hi-Q, Orion

Review 3 of 7

Price Paid:  $188.00 from Sam's Club

Summary:
These speakers were a Christmas gift. Sam's Club had them
for a very low price. I have a denon pro-logic receiver (avr-2000) that drives these speakers well. I haven't run
my complete music collection through them yet, but from what
I have listened to, these speakers are great. and for a gift, they can't compare to anything i would have had to plunk down the cash for!

Strengths:
Cheap price for such a quality speaker, twin 8"s provide plenty of bass for my tv room

Weaknesses:
can't reach the lows of a subwoofer (of course), no real weaknesses

Similar Products Used:
small sony bookshelfs

Review 4 of 7

Price Paid:  $270.00

Summary:
This speakers have a lot of powerful sound, even though you feed them with low signal input. The bass sounds great( it depends on the electronics you would hook) and highs are accurate. The mids could go a little confused sometimes.I used the technics Sbt200 (I got 'em at the same time and could test them well) and the yamaha´s are quite superior than the sbt's. Anyway I must say that they are a little bright for my taste. For that price they do it well!
I'm looking forward to change them for a paradigm pair but they are much more expensive of course.
My current set up (at that time) was an technics SA-AX6 and a panasonic A300,etc.

Strengths:
Loud sound with good bass, decent midd frec. and very good highs.

Weaknesses:
too much brightness

Similar Products Used:
SB T200

Review 5 of 7

Price Paid:  $350.00 from Hi-Track (Argentina)

Summary:
I would recommend this set of speakers, they are very good quality, specially for Home theater use, but I would recommend a Subwoofer setup with these, if you put this conbination you will have movie sound that will ROCK!

Strengths:
Very Good Quality and Loud Sound! due to it's high 90 DB it does not require a high power from the amplifier, these speakers are best with mid-hi sounds, very clear and natural sound!.

Weaknesses:
Lack of Deep Bass compared to Technics SB-T200

Similar Products Used:
I used the SB-T200 and sounds more powerfull in deep bass but sound is not natural as comparing to this set of yamaha speakers.
