Bottom Line: These are amazing for the price. They have accurate crisp highs. nice mid-range and surprizing bass for a basically "extended" bookshelf speaker. I usually listen to music with the sub turned off as I find most subs tuned for movies is too heavy for accurate music reproduction. The wood cabinets are solid if not spectacular when given a solid rap with the knuckels. The silver port "collar" is a bit tacky as it looks a bit like a howitzer muzzle. The tweeter horns are rated to 29,000hz and as I noted they have a very clean crisp sound, not the least bit harsh if you are prudent with the treble settings. I usually run the Onkyo 601 on completely flat settings for bass and treble. All-in-all these speakers are an amazing value and I have not heard anything near their price range that comes close to equalling the Zaldek 600s.
