Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $50.00 from second hand

Summary:
Got these fantastic speakers about a year ago and have never looked back. They have a smooth, subtle tone response that really kicks the hell out of speakers twice the price. If you manage to find these secondhand anywhere jump on them, you won't regret it.

Strengths:
great bass response, smooth mid range and nice treble.

Weaknesses:
none i can see

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $100.00 from e-bay

Summary:
I got az set of 4 of these from e-bay and the center channel hooked up to a Yamaha 620 A/V receiver, and I must say they sound GREAT! Very smooth warm sounding. Takes a bit to get used to actually. Mids are a touch light, but still very clear. The base responce is unreal for this sixe of speaker! Add the sand to wieght it down, and your good for an HONEST 37Hz. Thses play a lot lower than some (KLH) speakers rated for 20 Hz!!! To actually run them at the rated 120w rating, you MUST have VERY clean high current power (I don''t) With a decent amp, you are safe to around 90-100w The bi-wiring is nice, with my somewhat underpowered amp (100w x5) I can save the speakers a bit of trouble by running a passive sub before running the tweeters. Then turn the base down to balance, and you get more volume, and still great sound....that or I just run my amp in 5 channel stereo, and it gets too loud before they get overpowered (you get an extra 3-4Db doing this) For the money, they can NOT be beat. In my smaller room, they sounded MUCH better then the Bose 901s we had...to be fair the 901s need a VERY large room. and except for bottom end base responce, compare nicely to the AR-9s we had (good for 27Hz FLAT!) Female voices sound WONDERFULL on this. Try the Coors (breathless) or Lady Marmalade (Molin Rouge) and J.Lo (play) are favorites. Metallica S&M is unreal...you here EVERY instrument clearly. Another nice CD is Fleetwood Mac (the dance) but you need to lower the base for this CD (Recordings fault not the speakers) If using for A/V you MUST watch Blade and Matrix!

Strengths:
over achieving speaker in this size/price range. GREAT base (with sand) clear highs Bi-wirable

Weaknesses:
a touch light in the mid-rance (center speaker makes up for it)

Bose 910/301 AR-9

Review 3 of 3

Summary:
These are the best speakers I have ever purchased. They rock the dorm here in Seattle. They can be pushed, and pushed hard. My receiver caught on fire before my speakers went out. I now have it hooked up to a Sherwood 8090R DTS, Dolby Digital receiver with a JBL 8" subwoofer and Klipsch Quintet 2.0 rear speakers. They put out an amazing amount of bass (Lords of Acid) and have beautiful highs. Got mine off uBid for less than $180 with shipping.

Strengths:
Clarity, color, styling

Weaknesses:
Grill

Similar Products Used:
KLH, Cerwin-Vega
