, from Tonawanda, NY Summary: Having had VR-4's for a year, I thought that my speaker buying days were over. They're a great speaker. But Albert brought the 6's to our Western New York Audio Society meeting. I heard them, and knew that I was doomed! They were doing things that I never heard before. After talking with Albert V.S., I ordered a pair. Both him & his son brought them down to me and installed them. The imaging is razor-sharp, if the "software" is of this type. But they are so natural sounding, that you can get lost in their spell. And they are quick, from top to bottom. The minor weak spot, I believe, is in the bass. It didn't seem as strong as I thought it should be. A friend came to the rescue, we wired 4 10 ohm-10watt resistors in series with the mid-tweeter module. This did it, the bass is stupendous! Put something with deep bass on, and run for cover. They're flat to 20 cycles here. How much lower they go, who knows? Associated equipment--Counterpoint SA-5000 preamp-Conrad Johnson MV-125 amp- Melos CD-T bit CD player-VPI TNT Mk 3 table w/ Graham arm & Audioquest nsx7000 cartridge. I recently purchased a PS Audio 300 Power Plant, this unit is awesome! My stuff is on steroids now, an incredible piece!
Strengths: imaging, speed, naturalness of sound Weaknesses: slightly weak in the bass Similar Products Used: V.S.VR-4's- Clement monitors
