Review NaN of , from Stevens Poin, USA

Price Paid:  $0.00 from Jeffs used sound val

Summary:
These speakers are a work of art.
Imaging, and soundstage are wonderful.
Extremely accurate, and real sounding.
If your looking for a speaker to slam
rock and roll with strong bass these are
not for you.
They roll off very fast below 60hz from
what I can hear.
But if you listen to jazz, classical, bluegrass, piano music ect...these are a good choice
I suspect these babies sound great with
tube gear.
Cabinets are beautiful woodwork

Strengths:
Accurate, Awesome imaging, beautiful woodwork. Small footprint

Weaknesses:
Bass

Summary:
I have owned these about 6weeks now & remained pleased with their very natural and non-fatiguing sound. These are for a 2nd system, living room use - so a small footprint and good looks were important. I compared these to the B&W CLS (2nd choice, but sometimes were too in-your-face), and Meadowlark Shearwater & Kestrel. I suspect the Shearwater HR version was the best of the bunch, but decided I did not want to spend this much. The Kestrel, though throwing a big soundstage, often sounded congested with inability to portray adequate detail. Beside, the finish on the kestrels looked kind of cheesy (though the cabinet was exceedingly solid). All of these comparisons were in my home with a Muse 100 amp and Sonographe preamp and Marantz CDP. The Spendors are beautiful, furniture quality speakers that are just very pleasing to listen to. Vocals sound fantastic, detail is good, soundstage is better than the B&W. I wish they had more bass, but overall I am pleased. I'll give them a 4 out of 5 for sound, 5/5 for WAF.
