Strength:

really good bass ,best with 2 channel stereo high current amps

Weakness:

tweeters have a lot of hum/noise on cheap amps and or speaker wires.

The RST-11''s are great speakers all around if you have the right amp and cables. high end speakers need high in stuff.I tried them with a cheap amp and speaker wire.the tweeters had tons of hum and noise in them So if you get these speakers get a good amp too.

Weakness:

I haven't got them yet. I hate waiting for shipped items, always makes me anxious waiting for them to arrive.

I ordered these from www.ayselectronics.com for $311 a piece. They looked incredible, i just can't wait to get them delivered. These will be used for my computer. I will let you know how they sound once i get them.

Strength:

Power, Bass and Clarity all at the same time!

This is a followup to my post below. It's been quite a while now and I've gone through a few receivers but I have kept the speakers! My problems with clarity were strictly due to the Receiver. I now use a Denon 3300 to power them. Volume, bass and still they sound good. Nothing compares at this price. 5 stars because it really is a huge bargain.

PS - Sound Dynamics is about 30 mins from me, so local dealers sell for much less than other brands.

I auditioned the Paradigm Phantoms,Monitor7&9,B&W 603,604,KefQ55,Q65and finally Energy C6. I stopped by a local Audio Retailer who introduced me to Sound Dynamics(another division of Audio Products Inc that manufacturers Energy and Mirage Speakers). After a brief discussion on my existing AC3 receiver,he suggested the RTS11 for the front RTS7 for the rear(may be over kill)and the RTSC2 for the center with my existing Velodyne sub woofer. What was even more inviting was the price and the assurance that that I would get a 100% refund if I did not like the sound. I took the retailers offer and I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised.
The RTS11 sound was superb with excellent dispersion & very low distortion. The music reproduced was accoustically perfect.True to its advertisment the tweeter was silky, and could be adjusted with an Equalizer. The Floor Standing models Tthe Rts11,9 & 7 offers a bi-wire and bi-amp capability these speakers come with a 5 yr warranty. I would strongly recommend if any one is in the market for speakers to audition these speakers. The only negative is the marketing strategy of Sound Dynamics, very low key and extremely difficult to locate dealers.

You can get this pair for $500 USD if you bargain. That's the deal I got. The speakers are alright.. great for that price. However, it sounds sort of dull and lacks detail. They go quite loud- get a good amp.. you need power for these. Plus, if you don't bi-wire them, they really lack detail.
They're no B&W but the price is right.

I auditioned these speakers and the broad line of Sound Dynamic speakers at a very good high end dealer in Kennesaw Georgia (Audio Essence). Jim's setup at Audio Essence is a multi-room home for great comparison with real listening conditions (small room, family room, dedicated room, etc.) Jim also carries Spendor, Soliloquy, Gershman, etc. all hooked up with a wide range of front ends ($1300 systems to $30,000. I can only say that it is enlightening to listen to a reference $30,000 system (VAC system with Spendor Classics)and then compare the same music on other systems for the price/tradeoffs. I believe from hours of listening that the Sound Dynamics give you 85-90% of the performance of other reference speakers at a much lower cost. It is just phenomonal. You should listen to the RTS-1 Mini Monitors. They were just phenomenal (on an AudioSource Amp) on a $1300 system. I also listened and compared the Sound Dynamics to Spendor FL-8s. This Spendor speaker had everyone at an open house at Audio Essence gathered around with smiles. A Pathos hybrid amp was connected and Diana Krall was in the room! However, these speakers are $2500/pr which is a good price compared to a lot of high end speakers. However, the Sound Dynamics RTS series is not far from the mark set by the Spendors. The vocals and detail on the RTS11's and 7's is incredible. How do they do it for the money ($900/pr and $500/pr respectively)? After buying the SD RTS speakers I sold my ACI Sapphire III's that I have had for 18 months with a Titan sub in a dedicated listening room! Check out the reviews of that system on this site. The SD's image so well that I found I could set them up in my family room with HT setup and achieve great imaging. This was an eyeopening experience. These speakers image so well and are very good off axis such that we can all enjoy it at the same time. You do not have to be in the exact "sweet spot". I have the RTS11's for mains and RTS7's in the rear. I have found that the added bass response from the RTS7's in the rear position really increase the HT experience. I still have my Titan Sub but am debating selling it as I have little need for it now except for the deepest sound effects in movies. I did find that with my system it helped tremendously to biamp the RTS11's with my AudioSource Amp3 and run good speaker wire. I replace previous thick strand cable with some flat bar speaker cable from AudioEssence at $2/foot per Jim's recommendation and the difference is incredible. Highly recommended. As for the other review on this system highlighting a lack of detail and clarity? The speakers can only be as good as the front end signal. With some equipment experimentation he may find the key to unlock the potential of these great speakers.

Weakness:

they are discontinued

these speakers are everything!! being only 15 and managing to have these speakers is such a good feeling! these speakers have everything a person could need, bass, treeble, everything. they get every detail of the song, you wont miss anything. i only have 100 wats of power going into them, and they will take 250 each!! they sound really good, and if you have a chance to get them, take that chance
