Price Paid:
$278.00
from Best Buy Summary: If you want good speaker but don't have an audiophile buget for them, you simply cannot beat these Sonys. The sound is impressively loud & clear. The highs are slightly harsh, & you will need a sub to assist the bass, but at 279.00 for both towers, this is to be expected. Equally useful for music & home theater, these speakers are a godsend for those of us who must spend the majority of their audio buget on trivial things like food & shelter. Strengths: overall sound, price, one of the best values out there Weaknesses: lack of bass Similar Products Used: Bose Infinity KLH

Price Paid:
$250.00
from Best Buy Summary: I have only recently begun pursueing home audio more seriously than pre-packaged surround sound, and as such I cannot really budget for the system of my dreams. That said, I enjoy the sound out of these speakers very much. For close to two years they have given exceelnt midrange reproduction along with great high end sound that only occasionaly goes tinny and bass that hits hard albeit slightly harder on some frequencies than others. While I am looking to upgrade as soon as my budget will allow I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone who, like me cannot nescessarily afford the system of their dreams at this point. Strengths: Mid-range makes for excellent music listening and I listen to everything from Aaron Copland to New Found Glory to The Beatles. Weaknesses: Some Subwoofer help is required to give movies more clean realistic bass Similar Products Used: Sony, Yamaha, Polk

Review 3 of 26
Price Paid:
$180.00
from Best Buy Summary: I got these speakers from best buy on clearance for 180 buck just because the box was open. There was not a scratch on them and they sound great. For the price these speakers are the best on the market. The midrange is great and highs sound great. Volume is loud with a 200 watt handling. The only drawback is that the woofers and bass can sound a bit muffled at times. Strengths: Mids Highs and Volumes
Great Value Weaknesses: Bass
Suggest using with sub Similar Products Used: Mark V, Sony Bookshelf

Review 4 of 26
Price Paid:
$180.00
from Etronics Summary: A good "cheap" pair of speakers! ($180/pr.+shipping) Decent bass,
though a little boomy at times. Good midrange & clarity, especially for many
female vocals (though not as good as my Infinity Overture 3's, as
expected). Highs a little bright and sometimes harsh, but nothing
that a little equalization can't cure (same goes for the bass). On
a minor note, I did notice quite a bit of port noise for very low
frequency tones (~25-35Hz) on a test disc, but nothing I think
you'd normally notice. Sounded better than more expensive JBL's
and Yamahas that I listened to. Overall, very impressive for the
price range. Didn't think that Sony could do it. Very respectable
(even w/o a x-over Strengths: Good overall sound, especially midrange and bass. Great value!
(especially if not bought at BBY)! Weaknesses: Highs a little harsh. Definitely mass
produced for the consumer market...
(but what do you want for the price?) Similar Products Used: Infinity, B&W, Jensen, etc.

Price Paid:
$300.00
from Best Buy Summary: I bought these speakers to replace the Sony cubes I was using for my surround sound system. When I hooked them up and started to play T2 I never realized how much information I had been missing. With my two Yamaha 150w subs and these new Sonys the whole room was rocking. And now any music played sounds really good. Of course there are a lot of speakers that can blow the sonys out of the water, but for money and the way they look, nothing comes close. You can;t go wrong with these speakers. Strengths: Cost, looks, sound, price. Weaknesses: For the money and the way they look there are no weaknesses. Similar Products Used: Sony cubes.
