Review 2 of 8 , from Dallas, TX

Price Paid:  $100.00 from Best Buy

Summary:
I purchased this set for $100 at Best Buy. I am running these with a Denon 1801 Receiver paired with the SS-MF515s. The 515s were awesome, but I found these to be a little lacking in the clarity department. I have to admit that at $100, these were very appealing, but the price reflects the quality. If you are real Audio Enthusiast I would suggest getting something a little better. After roughly a month of torturing myself with these I went to Circuit City and bought a pair of Polk Audio RT10s for $50 each. You wouldn’t believe the difference in quality. It is simply amazing. These Sony's sound HORRIBLE when compared to the Polks. If you are in the market for some inexpensive high quality surrounds, I would suggest looking past Sony and going straight to Polk or Infinity. For just a little more $$$$ you can get a lot more quality.

Strengths:
Price & Size

Weaknesses:
Sound

Review 3 of 8 , from south dakota

Price Paid:  $100.00 from best buy

Summary:
this is a decent center channel speaker,it does the job
pretty well, but i feel like its missing something,im actually thinking of upgrading to the sony ss-cn490 which
has a detachable grille and uses the same tweeter and
type of mids that the ss-315 uses so it will be voice matched.i scrapped the rears do to the fact that they are
only one way which would be ok for prologic, but i have
a dolby digital reciever. so if your looking for this
you might want to try the ss-cr490 which is the center
i mentioned above combined with the ss-mb105 bookshelf speakers.

Strengths:
decent sound,cheap price

Weaknesses:
a little on the muffled side, rears are one way

Similar Products Used:
paradigm center, harman kardon center, infinity sl-20's

Review 4 of 8 , from Lexington, KY, USA

Summary:
This set is simply excellent for the price. Got them at Best Buy after comparing them to several sets also from Sony as well as some from Yamaha. Would have opted for a more expensive brand if price were no object--but I feel that I get a lot more sound out of these little speakers than I paid for. After living with just the small speakers included on our Sony KP-53S70 projection TV for a while, watching DVDs is really an entirely new experience (note also purchased the Sony SS-MF515 3-way towers and a Sony STR-DE445 receiver along with these).

Strengths:
Price, quality

Weaknesses:
Rears could stand to be two-way

Review 5 of 8 , from Manassas, VA

Summary:
I'm currently upgrading my home theater, from a Pioneer system, on a really tight budget. Along with the SS-CR290, I bought the a pair of SS-MB215s as my front speakers. Total, the system cost me roughly 200 bucks. I'm still using the ProLogic Reciever that came with the old system. The sound is TERRIFIC!! Center and the rears are the best I've heard in this price range. I'm amazed at the clarity of the center speaker. Definitely the way to go! If you want a home theater, but can't afford THX home theater, my dream, or something close to it, this is the best starting point. High value for the money. Great sound. You'll absolutely love these speakers.

Strengths:
PRICE,BRAND

Weaknesses:
Rears could be two way.
