Bottom Line:
I researched speakers for months to choose a speaker for my main listening room. I had b&w 604s2 speakers and was tired of the metal stweeter. I wanted softer, less analytical sound. I researched and auditioned tons of speakers and narrowed the search to silverline, spendor and soliloquy. I bought the soliloquys because the price was right.

The sound is quite astounding. According to the manufacture, who I called, they are the most musical in the line. They are incredibly open and warm. In the past I have been a huge fan of paradigm. I have a home theater with studio 20s and my bedroom has studio 40s. Recently I decided to experiment and I placed the 40s in my listenroom to do a head to head test with the 6.2s. No comparision. To my surprise, the 6.2s blew away the 40s. By comparision the 40s sound small and boxy. Granted, they are a monitor that retails for 1/2 the price, but boy does it show. Previous to this, I actually thought they sounded better, which they may, in a small room like a bedroom with furnishings that would soften the sound.

COnclusion: Great sounding speaker. Are they worth $2600, don't know, I wouldn't pay that for any speaker, I'm relatively poor. But for what I paid, they are a tremendous value.

Arcam Diva65 intergrated-powers the 40's

New ortho headphones HE-6 & LCD-2

Wow! I've been having a love affair with these fine headphones. I was able to get a three week trial with the LCD-2 and was hooked. The first thing that boxes your ears is the quality and quantity of bass from a headphone. Both of these headphones are currently the best out there and many have co ... Read More »

Magnepan 1.6 Review (Part #2)

I had several weeks to really play with my magnepan 1.6's. I've found out multiple things, which are: -- I've learned that I have a lot to learn. I don't think the Manepan's are 'novice speakers'. They are fairly transparent and take some work to sound there best. -- On the plus side, the comp ... Read More »

Anyone have experience with a 6.2 set up?

I am looking into adding 2 subwoofers to my set up to create a 6.2 set up. I know a couple people that have done this, but their audio experience is limited and I just don't know if all they really want is more boom (kinda like the guys in car audio who only invest into subs). I am not looking for ... Read More »

I have a Sony 333ES that is giving out and now I'm looking at the Denon receviers. Are there a lot of receivers that will send out a stereo signal to a ... Read More »
