from silver screen and sound, MD Summary: I had the system installed and sound tested by the store I purchased the system from. The XA-90's arrived in huge wooden crates the size of a refrigerator. I am extremely pleased by the speakers reproduction of the music. I don't really hear the position of the speakers but rather the individual instruments or vocals are truly spaced in front of me like a soundstage as if I am at a live performance. I have not experimented with the remote controlled base since I have subs to go with them. They were billed by the company as not needing help, but the store I purchased the system from felt adding the NHT's would be icing on the cake. The same store took first place in the recent CEDIA Home Theater conference held in Indianapolis for Home theatres under $60,000 so I trusted them. If you want your speakers for listening to music and be able to apply them for Home theatre use as well, I would highly recommend checking them out. Strengths: Clear highs and tight base (I do have Two NHT sub2's to handle bass freq below 40Hz), Good construction and good looking. Weaknesses: None noted yet. Similar Products Used: For surround I use Snell's matching center and surround speakers and Thiel 1.5's for logic 7 for HT; pair of NHT's sub2;Bryston 9B THX 5 channel amp, Adcom 565 mono blocks for the pair of Thiels when in logic 7; Lexicon MC-1 processor/preamp; marantz components for CD and DVD; Chang lightspeed power conditioner; Synergistic interconnects; MIT speaker cable
