Bottom Line: I replaced an pair of vintage speakers after doing some lookikng at where I wanted to go. Jim Salk answered multiple questions, gave me information regarding the pros and cons of his various speakers and talked me through a change in my integrated amp from a vintage tube amp so something with more wpc. The HT2-TLs have been everything that I had hoped for and more.
They sound wonderful and go plenty low so that I do not need a sub. The ribbon tweeter is new to me and I had worried that it might not disperse well but it is excellent and I do not have to be in the "sweet spot" chair to get great highs. As good as the highs and bass are, though, this speaker puts out pure magic in the mids. I would highly recommend this speaker to anyone looking to spend up to $10,000. I think that it competes well with speakers that I have heard in that range but I haven't heard that many and your results may vary depending upon your ears.
In addition to incredible sounds, Jim Salk builds some of the most attractive speakers that I have ever seen. My speakers are pau ferro rosewood and it just so happens that they are almost a perfect match for the decor in my listening room. The wife loves that and I love it when the wife is happy.
Check our the Salksound website and look for owners auditions and you should be able to find a pair of speakers to listen to in your area.

Bottom Line: Packing-Excellent
Manual-good set-up information, Nice personal certificate, outstanding demo disc
Finish and detail- Excellent in everyway, quality of cabinet is as good as a fine furniture.
Mid-range and higher freg. Its really hard to describe Not Harsh but very detailed. Smoothwith air but dynamic.
When playing at low spl sound is musically involving.. The louder youy crank it up the better it sounds.
The sound is accurate but never sterile. HArd to decribe the sound except its on steriods.
I would strongly suggest if your looking for a speaker in this price range you should take a look at the HT2-TL then buy a set.
