Review NaN of , from Calgary, AB, Canada

Summary:
These are amazing little speakers. They throw a wide and convincing soundstage (although depth of soundstage is not as well done as more expense speakers like the Proac Response 2.5). They are very clear and tonally accurate speakers, while never becoming fatiguing.

They sound better the harder they are pushed (to a point, of course). And the Veritas' are relatively efficient. With my Audio Refinement integrated amplifier (50wpc), these speakers will go very loud without having to push the volume past 12:00. I'm convinced that they would sound better yet with beefier amplification.

The depth and quality of bass is absolutely astonishing for a speaker with such a small footprint. I far prefer these speakers to my existing set-up of Totem Mites pared with an a/d/s/ subwoofer. I truly have heard nuances I never knew I was missing.

I would say that these speakers have a slightly forward character, although not nearly as strident as the Joseph Audio Rm22si or Dynaudio speakers I have auditioned.

The Veritas' are perhaps not as refined and smooth as the Proacs, but the extra octave of bass reproduction more than makes up for it. I just can't justify the kind of money asked for the Proacs if I'm going to have to attempt to integrate a subwoofer as well.

Try them if you possibly can.
Associated equip:

Strengths:
Amazing bass depth and accuracy,

Weaknesses:
Perhaps not the last degree of soundstage depth
