Bottom Line: Great speakers, currently i am using them as rears in my system.
the highs of this line of speakers is amazing. so clear you can hear everything.
to the previous poster, they are not meant for bass that is why you buy a subwoofer.
this is a huge upgrade to the monitor series, the down firing port is a brilliant idea, the piano top black top looks AMAZING and though the cabinet is made of MDF polk did a good job of adding the wood like finish on the black version. also compared to the monitor series the mesh covers fit much better and look just as good on as they do off.
simply put if you are looking for a nice setup on a budget these would make good fronts, but they work awesome as rears.

Bottom Line: Nice set of speakers with excellent treble and mids. A little lacking in bass but these aren't meant to deliver powerful bass. I have a HK3485 receiver and it would blow them to smithereens if I REALLY cranked it but they still are a very loud - good sounding - speaker at this price point. Quite satisfied. They mesh well with the JBL Northridge E80s we have as the front speakers.
