Review NaN of

Price Paid:  $0.00 from inherited

Summary:
These speakers originally where my great uncles. when he passed away they were given to my father. Sadly enough he also passed away 3 years ago. they have always been an exceptional set of speakers as long as i can remember.
I have the hooked up w/100 watts rms to each speaker, and to take the low end stress off them i also have my cerwin vega ls12. great combo. when i see that no-one in my building is home i get a chance to push them, to avoid a noise violation. they are louder and clearer than most of the professional pa systems that ive seen at local venues. i dont know if i could live with out them!!!!

Strengths:
Highs are incredible. they make my ears want to bleed with happiness

Weaknesses:
the low end is kinda flat in a 2 piece configuration. solution: go buy a 300$ sub and you will love each and every second of use

Review NaN of , from Ohio

Price Paid:  $550.00

Summary:
I've been using these speakers in a smallish room for over ten years, and although I've occasionally tried to "upgrade", I've never found speakers that deliver the combination of warmth and precision that these Polks do. I should note that although they are designed as floorstanders, they'll sound much better on small stands(say, 12"). I'm currently using a NAD C370 amp with a Cambridge D300se CD player and Bettercable speaker wire and interconnects. Difficult to find now, but worth the hunt.

Strengths:
Excellent imaging and detail. Voices,in particular, are impressive. More precise bass than the design would suggest.

Weaknesses:
Performs best with power sources above 80w per channel.

Similar Products Used:
Polk Monitor 10, Infinity (yuck), B&W.

Review NaN of , from Grant, MI. USA

Price Paid:  $600.00 from Classic Stereo

Summary:
I have owned these Polks for 8 years. I have NEVER felt the need to upgrade. In fact, I feel I would have to spend money beyond my means, to replace them. These Polks offer exceptional sound reproduction. They are capable of producing thunderous bass that is very tight and defined. The highs shimmer and mid's are very smooth. Once you find the right placement you are pulled into the soundstage and the 3-D imaging is awesome. The only thing I would recommend to a prespective consumer is that Polks DO NOT LIKE DIRTY AMPS!!! They are at their best when driven with a clean hi current. I am driving them With my Denon PMA 1080-R, and have NEVER heard distortion. Even after all these years, I still say "Wow". I really enjoy them. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Even if you could afford to spend more, why would you???

Strengths:
Detailed, 3-D imaging, excellent vocals, Awesome acoustic music reproduction.

Weaknesses:
Placement is critical
