Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $799.00 from crutchfield

Summary:
These speakers are outstanding. The imaging is remarkable. Clarity and accuracy are outstanding. I had read that these speakers are power hungry and that the bass could be overwhelming. I find the bass is appropriate without being loose or disproportionate. The midrange and high end are fluid, crisp, and precise. With that said, a 120 wpc receiver is perhaps enough for home theater applications but serious music listening requires more power than your average receiver is likely able to provide. Nonetheless, even nominal power will allow the listener to appreciate the musical accuracy and aural delight these speakers provide. The most striking thing about these speakers is their versatility. They sound incredible listening to practically any genre of music. Rock, pop, classical, and ESPECIALY JAZZ are all reproduced with similar sonic purity and elegance. Overall, these are outstanding speakers, especially if you have the amplifier power to really make them sing! Fortunately, many reviewers of these speakers got them for much less than the original retail as they were replaced by the new RTi series. At these reduced prices I doubt a better deal could be had for such a great sounding speaker-they would have been a great value even at their original retail price.

Strengths:
Excellent imaging, clarity, and balance

Weaknesses:
Power hungry but this does not prevent appreciation of their mellifluous sound even at low volumes

Review 3 of 4

Price Paid:  $1300.00

Summary:
The RTI150's are really good speakers. I was not really a big fan of polk audio. I've listen to their car speakers which really suck!!! Their lower end shelf speakers aren't that bad, but I am a firm believer that their high end tower speakers are great quality. The RTi150's high's have incrediable depth and imaging. The mix of the 5" 1/4 and 3 6" really gives you a awesome mid-range. The speakers just do a really great job reproducing difficult music such as clasical, jazz, and vocal. Cranking these speakers to heavy rock really delivers a filled, but tight sound as well. My setup Samsung 61" DLP RTi150 Harmon Kardon 325 HSU VTF-3 Subwoofer Denon 1600 DVD/CD CS400i Center channel

Strengths:
Inexpesive and sound awesome. Speakers have a really tight and accurate sound range from upper low range to upper high range.

Weaknesses:
If you really want these speakers to sound to their full potential you must invest in a mid to high end receiver. I'm using a Harmon Kardon 325. Don't get me wrong these speakers do hit really low, but can stand the addition of a subwoofer. The speakers just don't hit that low. I'm using HSU VTF-3 Subwoofer. Perfect sound with the addition of this subwoofer. Great speakers. I would buy them again.

Marantz MA-9S2 Reference Series Power Amplifiers Review

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
