Price Paid:  $250.00 from Wiring Entertainment

Summary:
I bought the Subwoofer a month ago and was pleased for the price of it. Wasn't pleased in the qaulity of how the cabinet was put together when i first took it out of the box i got adhesive that was holdin the box together all over my hand that didn't come off very easily also the screws holding the sub on weren't doing the job very at all on some music u could here the sub rattling. But i did fix it so that was okay. But the main thing that bothered me was the whistle sound that the port made didn't sound good at all made the sub seam very low qaulity. A little bit better box design would make this sub alot better conisdering that the sub itself was putting out clean sound but the box destroyed the sound qaulity. With alot of adjusting and sub placement in the room i was able to get it sounding really good overall i like the sub but had some minor flaws that could be fixed very easily. For value i give it 5 becuase it didn;t cost very much and conisdering the cost the performance was extremely good so for overall rating i give 4.
You get what u paid for basically

Strengths:
Excellent value does perform very well for price

Weaknesses:
Poor cabinet design.

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $230.00 from theweb-shop.com

Summary:
Ordered from Theweb-shop.com (1st mistake) for about $230 w/s+h. Took two months to get (from other dealer as theweb-shop only posts and sells). Played about an hour's worth of movie/music first night to test out-sounded good. Two days later, played one song and it went POP. Pioneer made me bring it to repair shop to have it looked at. After abot two weeks they told me they had to order a part. A week and a half later they said the part was back-ordered. Then, I was told that it would be on back-order for 90 days!!! I instantly called Pioneer, and after talking to a rude customer service agent was next taken care of by their supervisor. Two days later was told that they would send a new one to the repair facility and wapped with defect. Well, two weeks later finally received it and has been fine since-OTHER THAN THE FACT THAT THE PIONEER EMBLEM ON THE FRONT FACE IS "UPSIDE_DOWN"...
Was it worth a three-four month wait for? Probably not, but for the price-it does go pretty low, looks good, and was not a strain on the wallet. Strain on my patience-definitely. Quality control???

Strengths:
Very low price and low bass.

Weaknesses:
Quality in general

Review 3 of 3

Summary:
just a good deal, meshes good with my system, and more than fills my dorm room (eg. knocking stuff off the neighbors shelves)

Strengths:
hits the lows, power to spare, inexpensive

Weaknesses:
lows aren't as tight as they could be

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
