Review 1 of 5

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
Replace 2 polk R150 wired in parrallel with this and changed my system from good to unbelievable! Can't wait for my speaker stands to arrive so I can move the Polks to the rear to complete my 7.1 setup. If you luck into one of these make sure you have the room for it as I had to build a special shelf for it.

Review 3 of 5

Price Paid:  $114.00 from shopersadvantage.com

Summary:
Really great sound inclyding crystal clear dialogs (and music in ProLogic II) and excellent imaging (vertical 3-way arrangement, unheard in centers even from the most expensive designs!). Highly recommended. See also my Pioneer S-DF3-K review.

Strengths:
sound quality and value

Weaknesses:
perhaps looks, you either love or hate it (I love it!), and it is taller than most centers

Similar Products Used:
first center

Review 4 of 5

Price Paid:  $113.00 from Globalmart.com

Summary:
This is the first center channel speaker I have purchased and what a difference it made in my HT!!! I was looking at the Infinity cc-3 but found it impossible to find so decided to go with the Pioneer. I know, I know, many of you are saying " how could you buy a speaker from an electronics company? ". Well, after speaking with many knowledgable people at various high-end speaker stores, I came away with the distinct impression that since I was using Pioneer fronts ( 12 year old, 4-way towers that still outperform anything I've heard ) I should use a Pioneer center for accurate tonality. I was not disappointed. After adjusting the level of my center channel to match the 93dB sensitivity of my fronts, the sound is great. Effects designated for the left and right front channels are distinctly heard now as they are not mixed with the center channel effects, music and dialogue. The dialogue is crisp and clean even at high levels. The speaker produces decent bass ( a little more would have been better ) due to its top-mounted woofer. Overall, the speaker is great especially for the price I paid. I would recommend it to anyone using Pioneer fronts.

Strengths:
Crisp, clear dialogue. 3-way speaker design.

Weaknesses:
A little big but if you plan ahead, no problem.

Similar Products Used:
None.

Review 5 of 5

Price Paid:  $150.00 from store

Summary:
Don't remember how much i bought them for, but i bought them along the JBL HLS810 front, and Pioneer S-DS1-H rear.
Midrange is strong which is especially good for a center speaker since you want to listen to the voices of DVD movies. The low freq drive is located on top of the unit which is a cool because that way, the drive can be made larger thus more powerful bass, however. the depth of this thing is quite deep making unplacable on top of some tv sets as it might fall. So you better have a shelf or place in under the tv. Watched Saving Private Ryan DTS version on DVD and it sounded amazing.

Strengths:
Great center speaker design, Crisp clean sound, very good mid-range

Weaknesses:
might not fit on top of some tv sets

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
