Review 1 of 2 , from Antwerp, Belgium

Summary:
I like a very detailed and transparent sound, precise midrange and a tight and clean bass response.
The P5 does it all very well, the treble is super (proprietary band tweeter), further there are two
midrange-woofers, each taking a different part of the lower spectrum, resulting in a 2.5 way design.
The speaker is tall, more than 1.6 meters, it is only 22cm wide and deep, the side panels are all
aluminium. A foot plate is delivered with the speakers to add stability.
The P5 is also heavy, about 48kg. each.
Important: the lower frequencies can be cut off somewhat, making this speaker ideal for
placing near to a back wall (I do so, while having extensions in the cables so I can move the speakers
for serious listening). High frequencies can also be limited if the speaker is placed in a "hard"
environment.
The result is a speaker that can be used in a variety of rooms.
I listened to a number of speakers, in the price range (and somewhat higher) of the P5, I found no speaker
that sounded so detailed and clear. The P5 can play very loud without distortion, it can also whisper
without losing detail. All kinds of music sound equally well, the P5 is fairly easy to drive. No coloration
is heard, the cabinets are rock solid. No audible gaps in sound exist between the drivers, the crossovers
are designed very carefully.
The soundstage is wide and deep (when the speaker is placed into the room). Given the flexibility
of tuning the response to compensate for placement or room acoustics, this is a very special speaker.

System:
Piega P5 speakers
Classé Audio CAP-151 integrated amplifier
Teac VRDS10SE CD-player
Van den Hul Magnum Hybrid speaker cable.

Summary:
If you are looking for speaker which can handle all kinds of music and you prefer an analytic, neutral and fast sound, give this speaker a chance. The P5 will always show you what's on the CD. It rewards good recordings as it shows all oddities of a bad one. It's like a magnifying glass to your music - very fascinating indeed. If you like tube amps and "british sounding" speakers, and a 160cm tall aluminium box doesn't fit into your living room, better look somewhere else.
