Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
I have recently purchased Newform Research 630v3 and thought I'd share my thoughts now that I have had them for awhile. These are as good and IMO better than any speaker close to it's price range(5k and below). They are extremely fast and detailed with a huge sound stage.Music just sounds right,if the recording is great they sound great. Bad recordings can not hide though which is the price I'll gladly pay.
The sound stage is huge, however being a ribbon design you miss a fair bit if you are standing up and tall or laying on the floor as you need to be sitting to stay on axis with the highs as the projection of sound is side to side not up and down. I think that is the main reason it sounds great is not a lot of reflections to mess the sound stage up.Also the bass bin is the most solidly built speaker enclosure I have come across.
I read a comment by another owner that said basically buy these and you won't be thinking of upgrading your speakers any more. He was not exaggerating they are that good.
The service from Newform is great as is the web site lots of useful information.
As one last note I live in a major city and I auditioned a lot of speakers before reaching my conclusion.

Strengths:
sound stage,bass,and even presentation.Easy placement.

Weaknesses:
not the nicest looking speaker but well finished

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $0.00 from Newform Research

Summary:
Having spent considerable time with the 630v3 I have decided that they are the best deal in Hi-Fi IIMO. have ever come across. They easily outperform speakers 2 or 3 times the price. I have never heard such a revealing loudspeaker from top to bottom. It has no emphasis on a particular frequency to give it a character like most speakers.
If it does have a character it is speed, definition and a lovely sense of space.Instruments are very lifelike.Regardless of the type of music if the source is great the speakers will sound great.
The detail that these speakers has will have you noticing things that you have not heard from your discs before.
The high end is not at all fatiguing as with some dome tweeters.
The service from Newform is also exceptional. As the person you talk to is the designer who is very enthusiastic about our hobby and his after sales support is fantastic.
I have read elsewhere that the cabinets are not the best however I have found the cabinetry to be excellent although it is certainly a unique looking speaker which may not appeal to everyone.
As they have a 30 day return policy the risk of ordering mail order is not that big a deal.

Strengths:
Speed,definition and easy placement,

Weaknesses:
none

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $1516.00 from directly from manufa

Summary:
Listen and not only see you will, but you'll also be cured of upgrading fever. If your preferences are jazz and classical, these speakers will put a smile in your face every time you'll listen to them, period. That's what matters, unless you'd rather have an exquisite piece of cabinetry, instead. Then you could enjoy Sonus Faber Cremonas and B & W Nautilus 803s and 802s. At over four to five times the price of the Newforms, they will sound and look good, indeed. Solidly built and attractive, the Newforms simply do their job as well as the much higher-priced competition, without the cosmetic enhancement.

Strengths:
Continuous pleasure.

Weaknesses:
At this price, none

Similar Products Used:
Most B & Ws, Sonus Faber, Martin Logan, Maggies

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....
