These speakers went straight into my heart when I first listened them at the dealer and they continued to be stay there even I listened a lot of other speakers (sometimes twice more expensive). The bass is great without being boomed. The overall sound is natural. The details were enough to rediscover my CD collection. If you are into rock, blues or jazz music you MUST try these speakers before your final choice. ;)

Strength:

Great bass, amazingly open, a beautifully finished cabinet and speaker, Bob Surgeoner the owner of Neat is one of the good guy's of hi-fi and neat's sound great with naim gear.

Weakness:

Careful set up to tune the bass.
They take good quality hi-fi components to sound their best but when they do boy do they deliver.
They do require some space from the rear wall to sound their best, in my room about 50cm's.

This is the second pair of neats I have owned and they never fail to disappoint. I previously had the motive 2's which replaced the epos m22's. The motive 2's had soul and played music, the m22's were more hi-fi sounding bigger scale and bass but rather bland. Now the 4i's just have everything in abundance, care with positioning is required to tune the bass. I use to run naim sbl's and with careful positioning at the right level of gear the 4i's give me the speed if the sbl but with more low end bass presence. I can't stand one note bass with overhang and the neats running right sound fabulous. The 4i's will weather many upgrades in your system and work VERY well with naim gear. For more info search the naim forum, neats are well spoken of over there. I compared the 4i's recently with the naim allaes and the 4i's were so much better.

Totally agree with the above review!

Absolutely lovely speakers!

At the end of a Naim system consisting of CDX2-XPS2-282-HiCap-250 Neat Momentum 4i sound absolutely marvellous! They play all sorts of music very well indeed. From Bach to Matallica!!! Instead of listening to two boxes I now listen to the whole soundstgage! A very huge soundstage indeed! They've got a very detailed, airy treble and midrange. The bass is strong and tight, but might be too overwhelming in a small room. But they also make a floorstanding (3i) for small rooms. My room is 40 sq.m..so no problem
Also tried Proac, B&W, Spendor and Naim speakers, but in my room the Neats simply are the best there is.

Oh how I love these speakers!!!

I simply love these speakers!!

Strength:

Too many to list.

Weakness:

Need good system, can boom in wrong room.

First heard these at the Bristol S&V show in 2007 and thought they gave the best sound at the show by a huge margin. In audtition at the dealer's they were even better than the show. There was a hint of bass boom at the show but there was no trace of it at the shop, or at my home. The bass is fast, tight and deep but this is just the start. They have a big heart and suit any music played on them. They also look great and have the essential wife acceptance factor. They rock!
