Review NaN of , from Canon City, CO, USA

Summary:
I started out with 10" Blue Thunders. They were great subs that hit real hard, but I wanted more. I was impressed with the solo-barics, but they are a bit touchy at having to be in the perfectly sealed box and can blow if it leaks.
I bought two 12" 7000's, put them in a aero-ported 2.2' per side box, and connected each one to a bridged Thunder 2300x amp. installed in my Jeep Grand Cherokee and...
Damn!!! The bass is incredible! The lows are teeth rattling and sound clarity is fantastic. These speakers hit so hard that I fear of shattering not only my windows, but the cars aound me at stop lights. One word for MTX...EXCELLENT!!!

Strengths:
Ass kicking bass!

Weaknesses:
none

Similar Products Used:
Kicker Solo-barics, MTX Blue Thunders.

Review NaN of , from Stacyville, IA, USA

Summary:
I have 15" 8 OHM Thunder 7000's, and I can just say they pound the living daylights outta ya. I had em runnin at under 300 watts rms at a friends house, and his mom came out telling us to turn it down, cuz it was shaking the whole house. And that was just one!!! For the price, this is an unbelievable sub, and even comparable to cerwin vega strokers with the right install. I'm just saying this: this sub kicks ass!!

Strengths:
Loud clean bass

Weaknesses:
NONE

RF punch dvc, Kicker Solo Baric

Review NaN of , from Austin, TX

Summary:
I have a Thunder 7000 15" 4ohm and lots of problems! The Tinsel leads to the voice-coil are too short so after a few days of good breaking in and then a few more days or hard core low notes the subs blow my amps fuses! I have had 5 of these from MTX and they all do the same thing! I use a 1.5 cubic foot MDF 3/4" wood and it has a very tight seal no air leaks at all! The subs all seem to have a scratchy sound when playing like a bad voice-coil but if they are not playing and you push them in there is no rubbing or scratching sounds which leads to the tinsel wire. I have had a repair shop open one up before going back to MTX and of course the tinsel lead was broken off before it entered the voice-coil assembly and was making a poor connection causing the sound and short! I have had no luck with a refund or exchange of speaker to satisfy me from MTX. Also they like to send out a Remanufactured speaker when one goes bad and the second Remanufactured speakers spider assembly was not even attached to the basket!! I would rate these subs as low as possible! Buyer Beware!!

Strengths:
NONE

Weaknesses:
TONS
