Review 1 of 13

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
Bought them in 1994 and back then i underrated them. but every time i heard them i came back to the sound of Mission speakers. And it is true, if you have a small livingroom witch is well damped they will sound amazing.
And what is even better to upgrade them!!!! The sound wil improve in such a degree that everyone can hear it. you will be amazed how gituirstrings wil sound and the bteath of a voice you didn't hear before. If you upgrade you can hardly understand that the speakers made a good sound with the standart lousy components, but they do and that makes mission in my eyes a very good company. but back to the upgrade again also put a better coil in it and then the powerhandling gets a lot better so that the bais will have the chance the kick in at higher levels. On this way the loss of bais will be reduced and the maincomment for this spaeaker wil be more gone. It still doesn't go as low as bigger speakers but it goes all the way it should and in the lowest regions it won't give up, what gives the effect it sounds better and deeper, robuuster.
I used clarity caps se and 1.8mm coils.

Review 2 of 13

Price Paid:  $135.00

Summary:
Mine is 760iSE. I bought them from a store in Bournemouth in 1994. I have been using them since. They are very sensitive to placement. If you place them right you will get superb vocal and higher frequencies with a good lower frequencies production. This means that if you like bassy sounds they will be not enough to satisfy you. Other than that they have a very classy sound for all type of musics especially for acoustic demanding ones. Although they look pretty small power handling is very good.

Strengths:
Vocals, highs, midbass, binding posts, power handling

Weaknesses:
Lower freqs, placement

Klipsch SF-1

Review 3 of 13

Price Paid:  $0.00

Summary:
i replaced my original sony speakers with these, it was only a cheap system so i wasn't experecting any miracles. Even with dorbelll wire connecting they sound incredible. very punchy and dont strain when played loud. very good reproduction. my friend is a bit of an audiophile, he admits that on some songs my £200! system sounds better than his with these speakers.

Strengths:
price, robust, puncy, clear, enougth bass if you have perfect acoustics in the room.

Weaknesses:
getting old and difficult to get hold off (i want 2 more). maybe need more bass

Similar Products Used:
sony midi system (don't laugth, i'm only 16)

Review 4 of 13

Price Paid:  $100.00 from shop

Summary:
Even after 7 years, and the purchase of the brilliant CDM's, I really enjoy listening to these. Sure it could do with a bit more deep bass, but hey the bass that's there is surprisingly pleasant and keeps you from constantly begging for more. I think few brands if any brand delivers better sound considered prize and size. If you're into vocals, these can be really stirring. Furthermore, if sound isolation isn't terrific, your neighbours will be pleased with your purchase too. In short, yes they are very nice for nice music, no for movies or young rockers look someplace else, or buy a sub. My bet is that if you really feel like listening to the music, you will turn the sub off.

Although they performed well with every bit of equipment I threw at them, their performance varied tremendously depending on the location. Do yourself a favour and don't place these low or out of sight. They are small and elegant enough to put them were they belong: at 90cm from the ground 15cm of the wall. Really, you will not notice them after a while, but the enjoyment of crisp, clear and stirring vocals will stay with you.

Strengths:
Precise, clear, small, discreet

Weaknesses:
Deep bass could use a bit of help (sub)

Similar Products Used:
Sonobull 20, B&W CDM1, basic Magnat floorstanders

Review 5 of 13

Price Paid:  $100.00

Summary:
i bought'em real cheap, had them since new.. i second that they lack bottom; but what did you expect from shoeboxes??

pair it with at least 100wpc and they almost live, but the bass port distort at high volumes [some freq.].
-anyone else experience this..?
big difference on different amps..

i enjoy them everyday in my computer setup:

sony cd-player [model number covered my pre, cheap but works] computer main source here anyways.
Technics SE-A7 poweramp, Tandberg 3038control amplifier and a Vivanco MX720.

the dustcovers are ridiculus, take'em off, forget'em and loose'em... :-)

sounds really amazing with active xover and a couple of subs..:-)

Strengths:
small, very solid and precise..

Weaknesses:
none if price and size concidered. ugly or strange in some eyes..:-)

Similar Products Used:
tannoy, audioscan, vifa, seas, fostex, tandberg
and other missions, jamo, sony, philips, cv, jbl, mgr, zachry, klipsh, b&o

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....
