Strength:

excellent range (for a bookshelf) good detail (without sounding overly bright) image and sound stage

Weakness:

None in this price range

As the other posts indicate, these are very nice speakers for the money. Before upgrading to the frx3 I listened to a host of other speakers and found that I liked these much better than the others in this price range. In fact they sound better to me than some of the $600/pr speakers. I probably would not have auditioned them if they were selling at their original price. However, Mirage is replacing this line, and you can find them for less than half of their original price. After upgrading my front ARs to the 3's, I replaced the center with the matching frx-c and couldn't be more satisfied. I've heard better speakers, but nothing comes close in this price range for me.

Strength:

Very well Balanced, Detailed and Articulate, Musically Accurate, Well Constructed

Weakness:

Absolutely none. But my girlfriend is getting very jealous!

I absolutely LOVE these speakers! They recreate music so realistically, it's like having a symphony in your room. All musical genres sound great. (and bad music still sounds bad!) I never expected music to be reproduced so well by such a small speaker. I originally bought the FRx-3s as the rear surround pair to a HT setup with a Yamaha RX-V2200 amp, Mirage FRx-9s as the front pair and sub and FRx-C. But I hooked the FRx-3s up to a 20+ year old analog amp(which I was going to dump because it sounded so bad with my earlier speakers) and the sound from these speakers was absolutely awesome. I've been listening to them for almost half a year and I am still impressed. I can confirm that the other reviewers' praise of this speaker is justified and well deserved. And, at a very reasonable price!

Strength:

price, well balanced sound, efficiency, bass (hey, I like it :))

Weakness:

for their price none, maybe better quality connectors?

these loudspeakers are great, even at first listen :) the sound is very clear, especially in mid/high freqs; the bass is not exagerating but it's tight (take care of positioning them in right way!), making the music very enjoyable (I listen most way to rock & symphonic music). Though this is my very first "hi-fi" system (ampli carver cmv1185, cdp jvc xl-z232 tweaked, self-made cables),I make a great deal w/ these loudspeaks :)

Strength:

Exceptional soundstaging and musical reproduction of any genre. Amazing at this price range.

Weakness:

Bass light? Maybe.... but hardly a concern with suitable cable and speaker stands.

Fantastic. Amazing quality for the price!! I tested these speakers against a number of pricer competitors from A&R and against the B&W 602''s. None can touch these speakers. I throw everyting at them - hip hop, dance, rock, classical, acoustic, anything. Sure, they lack a little bass - good speaker cable can improve this (even the QED Qudos i use improves this). I am merely repeating what has already been said here, but it is all true - if your even near the price range in buying speakers, you have to seek these speakers out. I could not find a comparible speaker with the dynamic range and soundstaging capability of these speakers. These speakers, along with a Rotel 1070 power amp (overpowered, but an exceptional amp), provide the heart of my two channel system. I listen to ALOT of music, and i thoroughly enjoy these speakers. Highly Recommended!

Strength:

Amazing highs, strong mids, suprising bass presence from a 6" woofer, precise imaging.

Weakness:

absolutly none at this price.

I have been listening to these speakers for a little over a year now and I am still amazed. I listen to all kinds of music, from hard rock, to jazz to even some folk. These speakers handle it all magnificently. They are paired with the mirage OMC3 center, and a paradigm PDR-10 sub. I drive them with a Yamaha RXV596...I am stunned with the results. Give Canadian wonders a listen, nothing touches them within the price range and well above also. I believe they would benefit from a better amplifier and look forward to testing my theory when I can afford it :) Take a good listen to these before buying any other monitor. Try to find a pair that are burned in because there was a noticible improvement after a few months of listening. Good luck.

Strength:

Very crisp sound, good quality, smooth high end.

Weakness:

None what so ever.

Actually I bought them via a friend who recommended them to me, and I have not been dissapointed with them. We have compared them to Infinity and Amphion bookshelf speakers.
The FRx-3 had a more crisp sound than the others, the Amphion speakers sounded a little better in the low end, but then again the FRx-3 had a more detailed sound when it came to classical music.
Put on good heavy spiked stands (60cm high) with long curtains behind them they give a very smooth sound.
Anyone looking for bookshelf speakers not so expensive I would recommend you try the Mirage FRx-3.

Strength:

Small size, big sound. Great depth and imaging. Cheap.
Very smooth, not shrill or harsh.

Weakness:

Needs a sub to get good bass.

Really suprising sound. Clean and crisp without being too bright, which is what I found from many of the smaller speakers.
I 'had' to buy a sub to get the full effect since I listen to a lot of reggae and the bass reproduction was kinda weak.
I was looking to upgrade speakers, while downsizing. I thought I'd have to sacrifice something, but I haven't figured out what!
I did have to return the first pair due to a buzz coming out of one of the units, but the problem could not be reproduced at the store. They gave me a new pair anyway.

I bought mine at SoundIdeas in Albuquerque. Superb quality and excellent price. I used them as front speakers in my hometheater. Small package with gigantic sound, but needs the FRx-Center for best output. You won't be dissapointed!
When I was standing in line at the store a person bought 4 pairs front of me, I guess others like'em too.

Strength:

Crisp and wide, the voice of all singers is so naturally. The stereo-picture is perfect. And I have a big room.

Weakness:

None, none ,none.

This speaker should play along with a sub connected lowlined to get best sound, and be shure to make the settings on the sub correctly and you will not be able to hear were the sub is placed.
After you've found the perfect sound, do not ever try to get more bass if you are playing a recording with less bass, you can never create bass it have to be there from the beginning.

I will always recommend this speakers, this is my best bye ever.

Strength:

Size is right for our largish living room.

Weakness:

None that we've found.

Superb sound in our largish living/dining room area, combined with Mirage FRx-Center, FRx-Rear dipole Surrounds, 8" FRx-S8 Subwoofer. We like them much better than the smaller Mirage speakers when we demoed them, and I think our choice paid off.
