Strength:

value 4 money, great pitch and sound 5 drivers - silver looks great with silver cabinet and tv

Weakness:

needs loads of power to drive them and big fat cable, lacks bass without it. for home theater needs sub.

It was $850 Australian - which is now about $500-$400 US depending on the exchange rate. I use them for home theater in a small wooden room with wooden floors 4metes by 4meters. speakes r great - excellent sound - and looks great. i was very surprised how good they are. excellent range but needs at least one good sub ADVICE for anyone in Australia trying to buy any magnet speakers, video pro import them into QLD. shop around don'y hurry, you should be able to pick them up for less than half retail price.

Strength:

Very clear sound, design.

Weakness:

Too much clear sound, low bass.

I think these speakers are too much agressive in the high frequency and have low bass. I had to add two 18cm speakers to intensify the bass.
Good for classic music and home cinema.
Very good design.

Weakness:

needs extra subwoofer for real low bass

I bought them because of the beautiful design, but when I heard them I fell in love immediately. They have perfect sound, but because of the slim design, the low bass is not very powerfull. I use it in a home cinema set, so i use the active subwoofer to compensate this. the result is a perfect clear powerfull sound!! I can recommend this speakers to anyone who also uses an extra subwoofer or doesn't like to play music with lots of bass, like house music etc.

Strength:

transparence, pinpoint sound field, able to generate room filling sound and handle big power without streesed. beautiful look ,small footprint. good for both music and h/t. very high resoluiton. clean, uncolored.

Weakness:

little bit lack of dynamic, really hard to drive. need big power, bi amp to have decent bass.

after reviewed lots of speakers in my listening room. I found the needle is outstanding and a good bargain. As i mentioned this speaker can really generate transparent real good sound field without coloration that is big enough to fill the room.it is not a small tower. it sounds big , full range. in that price range i couldn't think anything can generate this kind of sound.only m&K is worth considering but while it is really good for h/t it is not as good as the needle for music.it is more h/t oriented.
AS a caution , don't buy this speaker if you are not running bi amp with big power and good wires.even the carvar can't handle it. And pls don't run this speaker with any sub $1000 dollar equipment. it needs both the quality and quatity of bass from the source. otherwise it will sound weak and thin.
