having been in the sound /live production for 35 years and having used just about every type of sound system, i feel qualified to comment on these speakers. these are compairable in fidelity to some much higher priced units [meyer,eaw].close to the same output with low distortion.these probably are too clean for most dj's who seem to like distorted, low-high, no mid, boom/hiss sound.[buy something else].just about unbeatable for the price! Strengths:
very clean output, excellent and predictable dispersion , low distortion, reasonable weight, good " throw "-front loaded speakers start to loose mid frequencies after about 50 to 75 feet . with the swa 1801 sub this makes a clean mid throw complete system Weaknesses:
too tall to fit in standard size american vans. the grille and that really cool mackie light/emblem are fragile.make sure you feed these speakers enough amperage[don,t expect full output by running 2 stacks on one circut , or with light power cables] Similar Products Used:
