Summary: I have had these now for several months and i love them. My neighbor had 2 pairs of them and after hearing them i knew i had to have them. Hotel California off the eagles hell freezes over album sounds incredible. the guitars sound like they are in-front of me. They dont need much power to hit very high volumes with 102db sensitivity but can take a lot (200w rms). When i first bought them i had them hooked up to a Phase Linear 200 Series 2 amp with upgraded power supply capacitors. They sounded very nice and blew my old speakers out the door(JVC) I have them now connected a Adcom GFA-555 amp with a HItachi HCA-8500 MK2 preamp and they sound incredible. With the adcom amp they go to insane volumes now and are crystal clear all they way there. They really dont sound that loud because they are so clean. The bass is incredible and very smooth and clean but also capable of shaking the house along with the neighbors house to... All my friends who have heard them love how they sound right, never stressed in any way.

Summary: I was fortunate to get to listen to a pair of these at my girlfriend's parent's house. Her dad had them running off of all NAD gear (preamp, THX stereo amp, and CD player) I still drool thinking about how crisp and tight everything sounded. The bass was perfectly amazing, very tight, but not too lean. I listened to many different styles of music, and they handled everything with ease. If you can handle large, heavy speakers, get a pair. They are extremely detailed and articulate, as well as being thunderously loud if called upon. For the price, they are amazing.
Strengths: rock solid low end, crisp, clean mid and highs. handle power well. you cant go wrong with 2 12's a channel.
Weaknesses: The cabinet could be a little more solid.

Summary: I bought these speakers used from a private sale in Toronto. When I went for the audition, I though they were good but hey did not blow me away. I was looking to replace my JBL L100T’s and I did not want to give up the warmth and dynamic rage of those beasts. So when I went for the audition, they were hooked up to an average amp and CD player with less than average speaker wire in a very large room. I knew that I was only there to ensure they were in good shape and in good working order because I needed them to be hooked up to my equipment.
When I finally had them delivered and hooked them up to my Macintosh Preamp (C35) and Macintosh Amp (MC 754) with Pink Floyd Dark side of the moon playing through my HK 7525 CD player, I was truly blown away even before I had put the spikes on the bottom of the speakers and positioned them. The bass was unbelievable, mids were perfect, and the highs smooth. They blew away my JBL’s….not even close!
Not that I have had time to position them and have listened to them for a while with all kids of music, I cannot find a flaw…I keep looking. I think my CD player is showing its limits since it is now not up to par with the rest of my audio equipment.
The other reviews which talk about “not enough bass” is truly missing out the beauty of these speakers since they do not have a good amp/preamp hardware. My suggestion would be to upgrade and sit back and listen.
Strengths: Sound
Weaknesses: None as long as you dont move them

Summary: Having been a KLIPSCH owner for many years, the very best I had were the K-horns (wish I had them back), but to "down size, I bought a set of KLF-30's. As another reviewer wrote, placement is very critical. Since the rest of my surround sound speakers are of the "Reference" series, I ordered a pair of RF-7s to replace the KLF's. A huge disappointment. The RF-7s lack the detail and soundstage of the KLF-30's.(Two-way system vs. a three-way - something Paul Klipsch always believed in). They also require a tad more power to produce the same decibles as their predecessors. And, the louder you drive them, the more "choked" they sound. It just isn't there. In my opinion, the KLIPSCH boys missed the boat on these, and I'm glad I kept my KLF's, and returned the RF-7's for credit (got lucky there).
Strengths: Full spectrum sound. Able to produce subtle nuances without strain.
Weaknesses: Critical Placement. Requires a good distance from the rear to the wall.

Summary: After living with the klf 30's for over a
year now I now feel able to give a more
accurate reveiw. also I have read and re-
read the some 75 reveiws posted hear.It
was after reading all of te reveiws that I decided to go ahead and buy a pair from
J&R Music World. The decision to buy wasn't based solely on the reveiws. My first Klipsch speaker was the Quartet a
very good design i'm sorry I sold them.I found the Quartets to be very nuetral with excellent bass. "passive radiator"
The KLF 30's have duel ports on the back down at the bottom.I found the bass to be a little lacking until I treated the room for flat response. chek out decware.com
room treatment. Also the positioning of
these speakers is very critical.I have
spent over a year trying to find the ideal position. Even in a treated room the positioning is critical but once acheived you will be rewarded with a large sound stage and good bass response that is articulate but not overwhelming.that is a good thing because you don't want the bass to overpower the rest of the music.I beleive the KLF 30's are a fairly nuetral speaker with an over all flat frequency response. And because of the high efficiency you also have very low distortion. this high efficiency I think contributes to the KLF 30's smooth open sound.I found in my room the best
distance from back wall to the inside corners of the speakers is 32 inches toed in toward the listener with the inside of the speaker aimed just n back of the head of the listener.I beleive my room presented a bigger challenge than say your room or some one elses room. Because my kitchen is part of my living room the speakers can not be centered in the room and in back of the right speaker instead of a corner I have a hallway. the other speaker is by a little alcove that leads to another room. despite the odd room I have with the help of a lot of room treatment and a lot of experimenting managed to get good response.also I have
tile floors.A good speaker but very fussy when it comes to positioning . when you think you have finally found the perfect position bolt or glue the suckers to the floor.
Strengths: Fairly nuetral with even response and of
course because of its high efficency low
distortion and easy to drive with most
amps inegrateds and receivers.
Weaknesses: I found it fussy to position but maybe
thats because of my room.
