Bottom Line: The Kef Q10s were a great little pair of speakers.
I had a Bose 301 Continental given to me and I went in search of a small amp to power it up. Went to PA at Aldephi and bought a chinese amp. The Monitor Audio Speakers were fantastic! That was the demo that convinced me. Went back to power up the Bose, boy... I can't even go slightly louder as the base would already be waking up the neighbours. Also, the vocals and lows sound a bit muffled.
The Kef's were on the market 2nd hand for a good price. Went to hear it and certainly the reviews were all accurate! its very crisp! It dosen't quite give a wrap around music quality as the Bose 301s but I could start hearing details if a little harsh for my liking but good to use for TV Sterios.
Pianos didn't exactly jump... I guess after the Monitor Audio treatment (RX1) everything else takes a backseat. I'm happy with these pair of speakers. Small and sharp.

Bottom Line: These bookshelf-size speakers have always sounded great on my Denon DRA-635 (80W) and then my Scott 350RL (40W) and now my Realistic STA-64 (25W). In my home theatre, the bass is tight and incredible for a speaker this size. I feel the bass more than at the Boston cinemas. Personally, I think the highs could be more accentuated.

Bottom Line: Very nice versitile speakers. They had a nice decent sound really, but on the other hand they can produce such good clarity and base from just a small speaker.

Bottom Line: Small but terrible!!! And mind you they're not expensive. The best sounding speakers in its price range, in fact even double its price range. Heard the PSBs, Celestions, Missions, small bookshelf speakers that are in its class. Q10s has better balance and trancient response...
I think the best way I can describe these Q10s is that they sound BIGGER than their size!!!
That's no joke infact its kinda surprising that a speaker of that size can produce exeptional mid-lows!
