Summary:
I earned this set of speakers at the electrostore where I work as a trade. I was going to sell the little ugly ones untill I hooked them up to an inexpensive sony and put them next to the pc. At first a few things came clear. The speakers sounded very natural at low listening level in the nearfield, with a little hump near the 200Hz. After a while I connected them to my sansui AU7900 and then the little ones turned out to be little big ones. The sound came alive in the small room. Right next to the c10's there where an old set of bose 301's wich have a larger bassoutput. But still the c10 sounded more open and defined. At this point the c10's are playing with a 15" sub. connected to a 200 watt Onkyo dual monoblock and now the restrained dynamics become evident. Also the speakers are definitly not loud players. At higher listening levels the hump at 200Hz is becoming annoying and the highs start to irritate. But the Kef C10 has served me well this year and will soon be replaced by a couple of Q15.2's The c10's where sold for 200gld a piece wich comes down to $160. At low listening level and preferably in the nearfield (with a sub), these speakers do their job!

Marantz MA-9S2 Reference Series Power Amplifiers Review

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

Lowther’s DX-65 driver in the Teresonic Magus XR Review

A new driver from Lowther is real news. A new five inch driver is even rarer news, so it was with great anticipation that I waited on this pair of speakers to arrive.

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
