Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $300.00 from Circuit City

Summary:
I was always very impressed with the bose system for cinema but $1000 plus price tag is higher than I wanted to pay. The JBL Home Cinema system cost me less than $300 dollars and I would rate them a 9 to the bose systems 10. I have had bookself system that costed over $1000 that were great for CDs but loud and rude when watching video. I found myself alway grabing for the remote to cut down the volume during action scenes and back up during quiet dialog. This is not necessary with this system. It like the audio in a large theater, very balanced and directed.

Strengths:
Best Cinema speaker I have used. Dolby Digital is definate and clean. Vocals are clear and not muddy, yet low frequency activity shakes the floor. I was originally after the Bose system ($1200), but due to cost I went for the JBLs($300), I am not disapointed. I have used bookshelf JBLs, Infinity, and Yamahas and was never happy with the sound. The Home Cinema is great....

Weaknesses:
I have found no weakness

Similar Products Used:
Infinity, Yamaha, JBL bookshelf

Review 2 of 3

Summary:
I like this system. To me these speakers sound best when used with a dvd , Listening to pro-logic sound does'nt seem to bring out that crip quality. But all in all i like this system. And highly recomend it if your on a tight budget.

Strengths:
Good highs. Crisp sound when compared to dvd sound.

Weaknesses:
Sub could easily handle more than given.

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
