Review 2 of 3

Summary:
I bought this unit for my parents, got a good price on it new at UBID 150-ish, plus shipping. The sound is terrific especially for the price and hook up is a snap. It's simple enough that you don't need a degree to figure out the remote - which is small and simple to use, as well. These must be older units, as the surround modes (Prologic, "phantom" and 2 channel) are pretty basic. If you're short on change and want great sounding system especially for the price - this is it. 5 Satellites, a sub-woofer and some good power for smaller rooms. In hindsight - since I have the 550 for my bedroom, the bang for the buck here is unbeatable!

ENJOY

Strengths:
Simple, easy to hook up (pre configured cables) and perfect for your parents... White speakers and woofer! very nice!

Weaknesses:
Surround is pro-logic - not DTS. Only two inputs, no radio or cd built in (The 550 has those) No digital input. (the box says 1996 - these must've been in a abandoned warehouse somewhere.. LOL

Review 3 of 3

Summary:
If you are short on cash, and want to hop up your sound system, the ESC 300 is the way to go.
I am more than happy with its sound quality and sleak design. There are optional stands and mounting brackets as well, which are also beautifully designed by JBL.

Strengths:
Excellent sound quality for price. Completely satisfied when watching movies. Perfect for a small room around 15' by 20' ish.

Weaknesses:
Cannot upgrade. Everything is attached to a built in amp in woofer.

Marantz MA-9S2 Reference Series Power Amplifiers Review

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
