Review 1 of 2

Price Paid:  $150.00 from Aus Hi Fi

Summary:
Got these with the D-590(7.7upgrade) and D5CEN centre channel, and the SW2010 SUB.
The JAMO 28 speakers at the rear are a definate miss match and have been given the toss back the the dealer and replaced with the D5SUR suround speakers instead, reason being is they are getting 110watts of YAMAHA RXV-1 grunt pumped into them and they just don't cope, but for a weaker sounding reciever like a sony 555ES or teac they would do quite well, overall a very nice clean sounding speaker but not a match for high end recievers and shouldnt of been matched with my personal package.
I gave it five stars for value because their not expensive to purchase and have a lovely sound to them as all jamo speakers usually do!
And three stars for overall rating because even at the price you can obtain them for you would expect a little more watts for your money, if they were 100watts they would cop 5 stars all round easy!

Strengths:
Attractive looks, compact, well built.

Weaknesses:
55watts means don't expext TOO MUCH out of these.

Similar Products Used:
Arron, Bose.

Review 2 of 2

Price Paid:  $189.00

Summary:
For the sub $200 range, these are an incredible speaker. They're perfect for either bookshelf front speakers or a nice set of rears. I've got no complaints about them, or any of the Jamo line, as I've been a dealer of them for slightly over one year.

This particular model would do much better to handle classical or jazz music at a modest volume than music with a much higher bass content. If you are looking for a speaker to handle something with much more bass in it, I would recommend the Jamo 128. Quite a bit more, but well worth every penny. Or if you're in that price range, possibly the X3M 10 Jamo's.

But back to the point, I'm more than satisfied with the 28's in every aspect, from the wire terminals right down to the chassis and color.

Strengths:
Excellent clarity, terrific high notes and well rounded bass.

Weaknesses:
not a very intense midrange

Similar Products Used:
None really, first bookshelf speaker of this size.
