Review 1 of 1

Summary:
Bright airy tower speaker system with excellent mid and high range reproduction. In terms of value for money I could not find a better sounding speaker in the showroom. They totally blew away Polks and Boston A's that cost twice as much.

The passive woofer adjunct provides a tight bass response that is smooth. Bass response is the only weakness of this system for certain, music types.

If your goal is to enjoy music as it was meant to be heard this is the speaker. If you want to piss off your neighbours then get something with big woofers.

Positioning in your room is important with these speakers. Large rooms with traditional speaker placement is best. Speaker face-tilt is adjustable with differnt size rubber feet.

Strengths:
Great for all types of music. Highs and mids are bright. A very bright high energy speaker system. Adjustable "feet".

Weaknesses:
Bass below 57 Htz is passive/mechanical. Not such a great rock&roll system but can be easily augmented with sub-woofers.

Similar Products Used:
Older HPM 500 Pioneers, JBL's, Infinity Centres, JVC front channels and Dahlquist front channels. Infinity rules the roost.

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
