Bottom Line:
I have had these speakers for more that 10 years. They have survivied two stereos and one infant's proddings. I currently use them in my living room as a part of a 5.1 speaker setup. They have a very nice upper and low range however, there is a little missing in the middle. For the price these were the best on the market. A consumer reporting agency listed these as a best buy when they were new. I would agree. Definitely a good starter set and will be great as backups if you decide to upgrade.

I would simply like to say I was impressed by the overall efficency of this speaker.I was also astounded at how much sound this little speaker can put out. If placed high enough it is quite suitable for a moderately large room

I got a pair of these speakers several years ago and was thoroughly satisfied with them. In general, "a great little speaker." For a while, I thought they were out of production, until I saw an ad for them in J&R for $100. I now have for four for surround sound. I'd encourage anyone looking for a cheap, little bookshelf speakers to take a look at these.

Bottom Line:
This is a great speaker if you're on a budget! Just remember that it's a book-shelf speaker and not intended to fill large spaces with sound and you'll be, in my opinion, quite pleased. It is a two-way design with a 1" silk soft-dome tweeter in a ported enclosure (15 1/2"x7 1/2"x10"). It's rated to deliver 40-20,000 Hz. at 8 ohms. It has an spl of 89. It has beautiful mids. and highs and very tight, punchy bass. The bass really impressed me for a 6 1/2" woofer in such a relatively small cabinet. Of, course, if you want truly deep bass you'll need to couple it with a good subwoofer. I'm usng an Infinity BU-2 (100 watts/12") and can't be happier!
