Summary:
This is an outstanding speaker system. It includes a 600W servo amplifier which provides true DEEP bass. It also has the same components as the Genesis V at a lower price point (the V has an 800W amp and includes 4 bass drivers per cabinet vs 3 in the VI). This speaker is very similar to the Genesis 500 which is the current model...the VI has been discontinued. Both the V and VI differ from the 500 in that they had metal dome midrange drivers which , to my ear, are much better than the more conventional drivers in the 500. Imaging and sense of space with the VI is much like what you would expect from planar speakers. They are very fast with excellent slam. Drums, string plucks, etc have a clarity and immediacy not heard in most speakers. Build quality and choice of materials is outstanding. This speaker is also HIGHLY adjustable...just about everything can be tailored to your specific room and system. Tweeter levels, midrange levels, woofer levels, woofer crossover point. Bi-wire capability is built in.The VI works great with any music and just about any amplification. Since the servo amp handles the bass you are free to select an amp that excels in the highs and midrange.
These speakers were introduced in 1995 and received a glowing review in FI magazine in 1996. Too bad they're no longer made...possibly too expensive to produce and too close to the V and 500 to justify keeping in the product line.

Moscode 402Au OLT stereo power amplifier Review

George is adamant about the fact that the Moscode 402Au is not just a tube gain stage slapped onto a solid-state power amplifier; rather, it is a tube amplifier with a MOSFET output stage.

Lowther’s DX-65 driver in the Teresonic Magus XR Review

A new driver from Lowther is real news. A new five inch driver is even rarer news, so it was with great anticipation that I waited on this pair of speakers to arrive.

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
