Summary:
I am thinking of aquiring this speaker for use in my home.
I currently have a set of Dunlavy SC V Loudspeakers which perform nicely, But I have heard other systems that have a richer more realistic sound. The GEN 1's being that I do have the concern of the bass issue. Even though the bass in most of the overtures I indulge myself with are not deep and bold I have noticed the lack thereof in the GEN 1's. Could someone here enlighten me on ways to counter act this anomally if I purchase these speakers?

Summary:
First off, I do not own a pair, but I have had many hours of
listening time on them. They are in a word, Outstanding.
Driven with the right amplification, in this case, a ARC 600
they sound increadable. What one wants to keep in mind is that these spaekers are ruthless in the detail they can present, everything down stream is presented. Cables, power conditioners, source, etc all play a huge impact. These speakers are not a 30 year old design. They have much newer technology that is more refined than the original Infinity speakers that Arnie Nudell designed way back when. What Arnie has done, is refine, improve, and in every way better the original ideas into a truly modern piece of audio magic.
From top to bottom, these speakers are fantastic. No coloration, frequncy dips or rises. They image the most accuratly of any speaker I have heard, and I have heard many. On some recordings, excellent acoustic stuff, such as Doug Macloid, it is almost like the musicians are playing in the room, just for you. They play soft and loud amazingly well, and the macro and micro dynamics are truly world class. Beware, studio pop,rock,rap, and the like may not be very enjoyable. The reason, no where to hide. All the studio gimicks shine trhough and the sound is all to revealing.
The original drivers for the Gen 1 were from the Carver Amazing Loudspeaker system, which is a 5 foot dipole ribbon style driver, with many of the 1" ribbon tweeters to fill in the high frequency range. And to bring up the bass, are towers (left and right) of servo self powered bass drivers.
If you have not heard these speakers, and you critic them, you probubly think that bose, pioneer and technics make the only speakers that count. If that is the case, why are you even bothering to see this sight. Stereo Review is what you want, which is to say everything sounds the same, and the less it cost, the better! If that is the case, a mobile trailer and a Yugo are all you want and deserve! Add a $19 boom box and you are in trailer park trash audio heaven!

Summary:
I am basically responding to Mr. Ketzlers email regarding the Gen 1's. I currently have a brand new set of Gen350SE's. These are a custom set of speakers and are absolutely outstanding. I have an issue with any person that gives a product a negative review without even hearing the prouduct. If you can't afford a product please do not disparage the product. Matthew.

Summary:
OK, these are probably very good, I haven't been graced with a listen to the newest incarnation, with new mids I believe.But the design is 30 years old and counting. What was state of the art for infinity in 1969, and again as the IRS in 1979, may not be competitive anymore.

My major complaint with Genesis has always been lack of good bass integration.
Would you pay $125,000 for an amp with a ton of feedback? Would anyone even build one? Why, then, would you want a woofer with feedback for that price?
Build better woofers, don't put band-aids on mediocrity.

Summary:
No one in their right mind would spend 125,000 on a speaker. For that you could buy a small house, a large boat, a top of the line BMW, or 125 sony ES' receivers. Bill Gates would not even buy these. How the hell do you get these to your house! They weigh four tons! I am sure they soung good. they better
