Review 1 of 2

Summary:
A very nice balanced sound, exceptional value. Must be carefully positioned away from the back wall to get the full efect of the excellent high end clarity and dispersion. Very nice look for a fake wood speaker. The spikes are hard to set up and they do tip easily.

Strengths:
Great midrange and fantastic high end

Weaknesses:
no extreme bass below 40 hz

Similar Products Used:
own about 6 different pairs

Review 2 of 2

Summary:
I bought this speaker from AudioAdvisor on a closeout for $400.00. Well worth the price. It is a time-aligned sloped cabinet with a 6 1/2" mid/woofer and a Genesis ring tweeter. Very good imaging and respectible bass for such a small woofer. The finish is a Dk. Cherry vinyl with good to better build quality. I have several systems and approx. 14 different pairs of speakers and have not been tempted to sell these. They hold a respected place in my Study system. Rating is difficult since they have some very good qualities. I would rate them a 4 for build quality and sound only because I know there is better out there. But I enjoy them thoroughly.

Magnepan Magneplanar MG 1.6 User Review

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
