from empire Summary: On first listening sounds good but let down badly by awful construction of the sub cabinet.
In working conditions the sub rattles and buzzes badly. The only solution to make the system usable is to tighten all screws fastening handles etc. and to screw through the front of the cabinet to securely fix the reinforcing strip of chipboard to the front panel. The constroction is of chipboard which is far too flimsy for a sub.
Perhaps this has been addressed in the XTR 500 made now of MDF. Strengths: Simple set up. Weaknesses: Poor construction. Castors need to be bigger as the cab tends to drag on anything but a perfectly level floor.
