The first thing that hits you is the built quality. Absolutley stunning. Next is the heft when you pick it up . Reassuring. Plug and play, forget it . this baby needs careful set up and system matching to show what it can really do . Its very critical ot stands , your choice of amp and cables. the thing i found it most sensitive to was the quality of power. Feed it a dedicated line using appropriate power conditioners and cords and you reap huge drewards. It reflects any change in your set up , which i find very satisfying.
The beryllium tweeter is a miniature masterpiece. Its got the best attributes of an electrostat with a touch of ribbon thrown in. Great transperency and focus, absolute ease and melt in your ears highs.I drive them with a jadis da88s 60 watt class A amp and wadia 861 front end . Get it right and this baby sings. Great top to bottom coherence and depth of image. It reveals the musical structure by opening up the upper mids in a most vibrant way. The bass is well matched to its bandwidth and i find it unnessecary to use a sub in my room for normal music programme.Rythmically it can unravel intervoven strands with absolute ease revealing harmonics which are glossed over by lesser designs. All in all a great speaker. Maybe even the best stanmount around. Strengths:
Rythmically Incisive
Very high resolution loudspeaker
The best tweeter around
Fabulous built
Weaknesses:
Very demanding of system set up.
Exposed tweeter is very easy to damage Similar Products Used: B&w CDM I NT, 9 NT,Dynaudio !.3 se
