Bottom Line: Some word about this product (IMO):
Cheap trick, damages and some crease on the cabinet and on the speakers, gluepaths in various volume all around the boxes. Typical budget product.
Sound in two words - disco feeling: raised bass and loud treble without refinement. But the soundstage is not bad if you have enough space around these. So if you listen background music in a dark room (sized app. 20 sm) you'll probably neglect the weaknesses.
Try another product before buy it.
Made in France doesn't mean much in this case.

Bottom Line: wow. i cannot believe the sound produced by these smaller floorstanders. everything about these speakers are top notch. definitely worth the price tag and more. i have the polyglass speakers in my car too, focal are just the best all around. the one thing that stands out about these speakers compared to others in the same price range is the breathtaking sound staging and the magnatude of the sound produced. i do have them in a small room but i am sure they would do well in a larger area also. eventually i will trade up for the 800 series just for the soul fact that they can go louder. don't get me wrong these things sound awesome but sometimes i just want to crank them up and not have to worry about pushing them too hard. for now i am vary happy with the 714v.
