from Sounds of Music Summary: This is a follow-up review after using my speakers for a year. As time has passed (and a few system upgrades have improved overall performance), my respect for these speakers grows ever stronger. They are like a window, just revealing the music within with clarity and neutrality. They image well with good stage width and excellent depth, they are essentially neutral with perhaps just a touch of brightness (but so clean that this is not a disadvantage), they go very loud on peaks while holding the music together and they reveal detail I've never heard on other systems. They keep responding to system improvements and they need a big clean amp to drive their 4 Ohm load (I use a Chord SPM-1200C). Indeed, the reviewer below must have been either listening to poorly made clones or heard the Mezzos in a badly matching room with very poor partnering equipment. There is no way that I can equate his comments with the speakers I listen to every day - I have bought so much music this year, a testimony to how much I am enjoying my system. A home demo is a must. Strengths: Coherence, transparency, vocal quality, powerful bass, dynamics Weaknesses: Highly revealing of source components and media Similar Products Used: B&W 802, Quad 989
