Price Paid:  $1100.00 from Hock Shop (Used)

Summary:
I Purchased these about a year ago used from the hock shop. At first I was skeptical but after a listen my ears fell in love. greak speakers for the money. I have listened to Klipch, B&W, Polk, Yamo, Axiom, and everything in between .. these were hooked up to a bryston 4B and were almost $1700 USD new. you might be able to get a steal on these because they are not very well knowen. maybe ebay but anyone who owns these would be hard pressed to sell these less the $1000 bucks

Strengths:
Great Detail
power handling
JUST GReat Sound !!!

Weaknesses:
Non for the price I paid.. These would kick the Crap out
of any sub $1200 pair of speakers out there !!!!!!!

Similar Products Used:
Klipch, B&W, Polk, Yamo, Axiom

Price Paid:  $900.00 from electronics liqudato

Summary:
I have been into audio systems for the past 4 or 5 years now and have gotten a chance to use alot of great equipment. I have used many lower and higher end speakers including a set of Axiom Ax3's and Ax5's one of there first line of speakers before the m80's. I purchaed these speakers as an upgrade and paired them to a yamaha rxv 1300 and a NAD c270 Amp and Denon 2800Mk2 dvd. They truly sound amazing when you have the space to open them up. I would have loved to pair them with full seperates and see how they sounded. I only ever had trouble after 1 year a tweeter went on me but the 5 year warrenty paid off and they fixed it for free and within a week to boot !! ... these are not by any means my dream speakers but they are solid and have very good responce and dinamics as well as power handling. I think if your looking at getting a pair of hi end speakers and run into these at a good price there worth considering. personally I would not pay more then $900 for the pair of 3611's. for the $1797 MSRP you can get a pair of M80's which in my opinion are a better speaker but the 2 sound totally different. the 3611's are more on the soft and warm side where the axioms have more shrill and dinamic highs. Depending on your components and the deal that you get you will be very happy with these speakers but I would sugest that you listen to them first before you go and buy. like they say some like it soft and some like it hard !! lol ... take care and happy shopping !!

Strengths:
1- great dinamic rage (softer tones)
2- great build quality
3-power handling
4 bi amp feature
5- great price if you can get under $1000

Weaknesses:
1 needs some space to shine
2 not worth the $1797 MSRP
3 not always good for every type of music
4 not on par with +$1000 speakers

Similar Products Used:
Axiom, Polk, Energy, bose, paradime, klipsch

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $435.00 from e-bay

Summary:
I've always been a fan of B&W speakers. I have many years of listening exposure and I sweared that I would only buy B&W. I compared these speakers to the B&W 604. At first sight, they look a like. Four drivers, one made of kevelar with bulit cone, and twin woofers. At first, specially for the price, those speakers were promising some good things, I couldn't wait for them to be broken in. After a couple hundred hours, they got flat on me. They lost clarity and detail. It's a shame since I had ordered an other pair for the rear with a center chanel and a pair of their monitor and a MK 10" subwoofer. It realy look good as a 7.1 setup, but the sound is far from being B&W. I would've had to spend an other $5000.00 CDN to get this set up with B&W. I should've waited an other year. I'm now considering to change my components since they are eight years old.

Strengths:
Looks and craftsmanship. Very solid and heavy. Well assembled, give no resonance.

Weaknesses:
They already sound fatigue after less than a year of listening.

Marantz MA-9S2 Reference Series Power Amplifiers Review

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
