Review 1 of 4

Price Paid:  $455.00 from Creative Car-Tunes

Summary:
I have only had my 12" for a short time but I must say that for that time it is by far the best subwoofer that I have ever owned. The 9512 can handle anything that you throw at it. I have 2 MTX Thunder81000d amps running that monster and it could easily handle more power, but I could'nt. I will tell you this if your not the hardcore SPL competitor than these subwoofers are not for you. Now you can still buy these if you want them but you sure do'nt need them.

Strengths:
well built, it can handle more power than most people need or could ever want. the price is way below other companies.

Weaknesses:
the money that you have to spend to power these. amps are not that cheap. box size bigger than I would like.

Review 3 of 4

Price Paid:  $500.00 from www.ddaudio.com

Summary:
These subwoofers are amazing. I have them in a 1973 cadillac deville and they are unreal. I also have a friend who had them in a 1991 lexus ls 400 with the same results. once you hear the handmade quality of digital designs, youll never go back. I have them on two power acoustik 1 ohm amps rated at 2400 watts and they bump no matter the volume.

Strengths:
Amazingly loud and clear. Doubles as both SQ and SPL sub.

Weaknesses:
too powerful when you have to go to the bathroom

Review 4 of 4

Summary:
The Digital Designs 9500 series subwoofer is the best I have ever heard. The speakers handle huge amount of power and move 2 1\2 inches. I recently took a 9500 series speaker and put it in a "sunfire" size box with a passive radiator. In my results I found that it plays 3 db louder from 17-100 hz, compared to the sunfire. Definitley the best I have ever heard.

In my judgment the advantage of the MG 1.6 (and other Magneplars), stems from the following: = It is a full-range dipole, and = It has uses low-mass, planar drivers for the whole audio spectrum. These attributes account for its extraordinary clarity, coherence, “air”...
