Summary:
I'll keep it brief, I don't actually own these speakers but have had them for a demo (2 weeks) while looking for speakers in that price range. They were fully broken-in, my dealer was using them at
his home for about a year.

I'll be honest with you, I don't like them. There are some good things about
these but the 'weaknesses' list is a bit longer.

The soundstage width is impressive, don't let the size fool you, these can go loud and are a relatively easy load. Very revealing, and neutral. If you like this
kind of sound, good for you, that's not
the way music sounds but I wouldn't mind
having them in my monitoring studio.

I have around 1000 cd's and have changed about 20 systems in the past 20 years,
had tubes and SS, CD and vinyl...

So what's wrong with them, you ask ?!
I would descibe it as a thin, overly flat & analytical, lacking in weight and warmth, and everything else that makes
your feet tap along with the rythm.

Sure, you'll get every detail thrown
at your face, painfully so. I was
very suprised to find out that these
speakers use Seas drive units.

Bass can go lower then you would expect, but it's a one-note bass also lacking
fullness at higher freqs.

These are suposed to sound like LS3/5a, says the manufacturer. It's not even close.

Pass Aleph 3 power amp
LS3/5a, 15ohm
Mirage 490is (to be replaced)

Strengths:
Soundstage width, loudness, neutrall, detailed.

Weaknesses:
Bright, thin, and VERY dry! I can't imagine using these without tubes.

Summary:
These are owned by a friend, I've listened to 'em many
times. The sound is very natural/neutral and that's its
biggest strenght.

Mids are as clear as it get, giving a very detailed
rendering of vocals and acoustic instruments.

Bass goes deeper then you'd expect from such small
woofers but I'd like it more if there was some warmth
here.

Highs sound very good with good recordings, no colorations
what-so-ever, but throw a comercial pop cd at it and
you get a very shrill, thin and hard sound.

Sound stage goes very deep and wide, this being their
biggest strenght.

None of this is a weakness if you like a analytical/dry
character (I suspect this can be "fixed" with a tube amp).

Make sure you give'em high quality electronics because
these are very revealing, making you aware that your
system actually sux :)

I'd preffer a bit of sweetnes & warmth from time to time.

Neutral & Natural

Weaknesses:
Can sound dry & thin from time to time.

Summary:
lovely speakers that can handle any sort of music. cristalclear sound with remarkable low end perspective, i.e. you think you hear almost anything an orchestra can throw at you, without the nasty boinks that neighbours tend to get upset about.

Strengths:
just delight to listen to and watch.

Weaknesses:
none that i can think of.
