Review 1 of 3

Price Paid:  $1050.00 from Absolute Sound

Summary:
WOW. What a difference these make. I upgraded from B&W Nautilus 805s. Sound stage improved, bass is awesome, mids and highs great. Had hoped to go with towers, but wife mandated speakers be kept in cabinet. I have kept the B&W HTM 1 center and they blend superbly. If you need speakers to fit in a relatively small space give these a try. You will not be disappointed. We did an A-B comparison and even my wife agreed the PM 700s were much better all around. For the cost they are a steal. System: Lexicon MC12b Sim Audio Titan Amp Pioneer elite 47a DVD player Legacy Subwoofer

Strengths:
Sound Stage Bass Variable subwoofer

Weaknesses:
none

Review 2 of 3

Price Paid:  $1100.00 from BJORNS

Summary:
LET ME JUST START OUT BY SAYING, THESE ARE WONDERFUL MONITORS. I HAVE AUDITIONED MANY PAIRS OF MONITORS AS WELL AS OWNED MANY AND WHAT THESE DO IN TERMS OF REALISM, SPACE, SEPERATION, DEPTH JUST ABOUT ANYTHING POSITIVE YOU CAN SAY EXISTS IN THIS PM-700. THE BASS IS TIGHT AND TRUE. NO SUB NEEDED. I USE THEM IN MY OFFICE SETUP AS TWO CHANNEL. TOTEM, B&W, HARBETH, JM LABS, DYNAUDIO ETC. DONT COMPARE AT LEAST IN MY OFFICE. IF YOU DO TRY THESE, GIVE THEM ABOUT 200 HOURS OF BREAKIN AND USE A 30 TO 60 WATT AMP ESPECIALLY TUBE. THESE MONITORS SHINE.

Strengths:
JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING. FOR TWO CHANNEL WITH THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT AND SETUP, NOTHING COMES CLOSE.

Weaknesses:
REALLY NOTHING OTHER THAN BEING TALL AND DEEP. YOU MUST HAVE PLENTY OF BACK WALL SPACE.

Similar Products Used:
B&W, DYNAUDIO, TOTEM, JMLABS, POLKS, EGGLESTON, EPOS, GERSHMAN, HARBETH AND MORE I CAN'T THINK OF.

Review 3 of 3

Price Paid:  $450.00

Summary:
If you close your eyes, and listen to the DefTech PM700's, you would think they were ten times the size that they are. A huge, clear, and deep sound that comes very close to the towers it trys to emulate in a small bookshelf speaker. If you want the sound, but don't have the space for towers, Deftech's PM series is the answer.

The highs/mid levels were typical Deftech-flawless. But the added depth to the lows, even without a sub, is incredible. It is just hard to believe that such a huge sound is coming from such a small size. With the added Deftech Prosub 100tl, there is certainly no shortage of low rumbles with 5.1 cinema.

System:
Yamaha VX995
Center (an old Bose 3.1 while I wait for the Deftech CLR2300 to arrive)
Front: Deftech PM700's
Sub: Deftech Prosub100 tl
Rear: Deftech BXP/2's

Strengths:
Huge sound, small size

Weaknesses:
None

Marantz MA-9S2 Reference Series Power Amplifiers Review

Marantz MA-9S2 Power AmplifierThe list above has one tenet that I continue to hold true: high powered amplifiers are necessary to reproduce the full dynamic range of music with most speakers. This became apparent when I changed from the 100 Watt per channel Bella Extreme 100 to the 250 Watt.....

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
