I HAVE HAD THE E 315 SET OF SPEAKERS, FOR MORE THAN 6 YEARS, MOSTLY 80´S AND HARD ROCK, AM A BASS ADICT, I USE A SANSUI AMPLIFIER FOR 750 WATTS RMS, PIONEER EXPANDER EX-9000, TEI DUAL 18 BAND GRAPHIC EQUALIZER, DENNON DUAL CD MIXER, PIONEER REVERB AND ECHO EFECT LAB, I REALLY BLAST THE VOLUME ON THE CERWIN VEGA E-315, EVEN MAKE MY NEIGHBORS MAD, SOME PICTURES IN THEIR WALL FELL OFF, GREAT PRODUCT, AM ORDERING 1 SET OF 15" SUB WOOFERS FOR MY CAR. YOU SHOUL BY CERWIN VEGA BEFORE JBL, OR ANY BRANCH, REQUEST A BASS DEMO, AND WILL SEE WHY !!!

Cerwin Vega makes the absolute best sound large home speakers on the market. Forget the wimpy and flat sounding products like Bose, nothing close to this price range will have the clarity or bass output of CV. I also own the VS and Re series Cerwin Vega cabinets, and even though a sub is not needed whatsoever with these, I will be adding a few very large custom sub cabinets for the ultimate in home theater. There is a little difference in sound between the different CV 3-way 15" cabinets, but no complaints on any of them. Thanks Cerwin Vega for your continued excellence!

Strength:

Hit very hard and low. Loud as hell in the mid and high range also. Handles plenty of power. Most importantly they sound great!

Weakness:

none really unless you like small speakers, or if you are like me and have a room that is way too small for all this bass :( but that will change when I move and find a big room :)

I purchased my E-315 from a friend for a great price of $375 for the pair. I have never been displeased with them. They hit very hard, especially when I use my EQ and boost the lows. The amplifier I use is a Peavy that puts out 300 WRMS per channel @ 8 Ohms, so they get a little work-out, but they just love it. I pound the hell out of these babies and they have never complain, and they sound great with my sub(no need for sub, but I like it anyways).

Strength:

Extreme Bass and power-handling. Great for parties and loud home theater.

Weakness:

Nope.

I've heard these at Nick's house over the years and I had to write a little sum-in-sum-in. Great party speakers, kick like a mofo and don't complain. Incredible power-handling capabilities.

Strength:

Sound great, Look nice, fuse is handy

Weakness:

They're huge but what do expect for 15" woofers...

I have had these speakers a while now and I can't wait to really use them. For brief periods of time I have let them thunder and caused material damage to most of the wall decorations in my apartment and psychological damage to my neighbors. Until I move away from the apartment scene and get a small house I won't be able to fully appreciate these sonic howitzers (at least that's what the cops keep telling me). Surprisingly, as overwhelming as the 15" woofers are, these speakers really offer a well rounded sound. The mid and tweeter give a crisp, complementing sound. I feel I made a wise choice in purchasing them and hope to enjoy them to their fullest for a long time.

Strength:

Where can I start. GREAT bass (15" Woofers). GREAT highs. They look cool too!

Weakness:

ummmmm.

Man, if you're thinking of getting the most out of your 500 bucks - these speakers are what you want. They are (in my opinion) the absolute BEST speakers you can buy (for $500). Basically you can't go wrong with these monsters!

Strength:

I believe that the strengths are the 15 inch woofs. They really get your blood pumping.

Weakness:

I don't really like the clip terminals in the back. Also the fused protection they have is annoying. A breaker type protection would be better.

I really enjoy the CV's. I had a pair 6 years ago got rid of them and missed them ever since. Saw these as a returned item at Sears and couldn't leave without them. I just had bought a sony STR-DE935 and I found myself tripping the tweeter and blowing fuses on my CV's. Rather than blameing the CV'S I returned the Sony and upgraded to the Yamaha RX-V995. Wise choice I might add, I've had no problems since. The 995 really rocks those CV's, and they get loud, really loud. Plus the fuses don't bother me anymore.

Excellent speakesr for loudspeaker or hometheatre use. They aren't quite PA built in terms of physical durability (i'd carpet and corner them), but the sound quality even at max output is increadible, and 400W is very loud at 102 Db/ W - M
