Review NaN of

Price Paid:  $400.00 from circut city

Summary:
i have been listening to cerwins for 23 years,if you are reading this, then i dont have to explain anything about them to you,i purchased my first d-9 in 1984,been kicking my butt every since i sold them.I have tried the v-15, but there was something missing,i have just purchased my another set of d-9's as i am 53 years old,i now have d-9's and my v-15's hooked up as my 4 front speakers with cerwin vega AT-3's as my rears with my surround, the center is an old technics but it works fine as a center,my peave is,why do so many of you guys out there who surely know something about stereo equipment keep calling these woofers subs???sub. is mearly short for substitute ,meaning a [sub.woofer] is a substitute woofer, seeing as how these monster d-9 speakers have woofers that would be hard to match by any means, therefore not lacking woofers, then there could be no substitute for something not lacking, there are many times i open my mouth as to install my foot, but on this,,i am sure there will be no converse high tops pertruding from my lips

Strengths:
there have been higher priced speakers out there ,some still say that the d-9's were costly, but anyone who has ever owned a set knows that it was probably the best money ever spent on there audio experience, when i leave this world, everyone who knows me will know,if he coulda,,he would have taken the d-9's with him

Weaknesses:
the only weakness i have ever found was the life of the foams, replace after about 15 or so years, only thing that concerns me,is will the foams be available when they go out again,

Review NaN of

Price Paid:  $100.00 from Craigslist

Summary:
I bought these off of a guy in Phoenix for a hundred bucks. The subs needed re-foaming that cost another hundred bucks. Okay I am running these off an Adcom GFA-555 power amp, and the bass is incredible. These CV's get crazy loud with no distortion. If you like bass heavy music then you would love to have a pair of these in your room. The only bad thing I would say is that the mids and highs on them are not all that great. I have a pair of Infinity Primus 360's next to the D-9's and a pair of Infinity SM-155's stacked on top. The Mid and High frequencies on the Infinity's sound fantastic and now with that Cerwin Vega bass
all I can say is WOW.
So my home theater set-up consists of Infinity Primus C25(center), Primus 360's(LF,RF) Infinity SM-155's(LF,RF) Cerwin-Vega! D-9's(LF,RF) Primus 160's(LS,RS) and an Infinity PS-12 powered subwoofer. The SM-155's and the D-9's are running off an Adcom power amp and the Primus speakers are running off of my Pioneer reciever. (VSX-1015TX).
Music and Movies sound great. If you are like me and enjoy your music loud like there is a rock concert in your living room or whenever you are watching a movie and you duck whenever bullets start to fly and hit the deck whenever something explodes. (Depth -charges in U-571 anyone!) Then I strongly suggest you add a pair of these to your set-up. For $200.00 total these were a welcome addition to mine.

Strengths:
Bass, Bass, and more Bass!!!!

Weaknesses:
Mid's & Highs a little weak although the D-9's do have tone controls, Infinity has me spoiled.

Review NaN of

Price Paid:  $850.00 from Lakewood, CA

Summary:
Take it from a full time musician/audiophyle, these are the ones that lead the pack. Unfortunately, Cerwin-Vega doesn't make anything like these anymore. Probably cost prohibitive. Grab them when you can find them. Close your eyes and let them take you to a place few will ever go...

Strengths:
Everything! Clean, powerful, a real joy. Try these on the original Robocop. Yeah baby!

Weaknesses:
Probably the weight, but if you're not moving them constantly, no problem.

JBL. Close, but no cigar.
