Review 3 of 10
Price Paid:
$700.00
from athens-greece Summary: At last, after having bought many different speakers these last 15 years that i'm keen on hi-fi,i've achieved what i've been looking for:the ability to come back from work and relax, leave everything behind, while listening to edens! although a bit demanding in terms of placement, they can easily award you with their natural,precise-ok,not 100%!-and fullbodied sound. But the placement should be seriously taken into account, for example place them too close from each-other and you'll get a boomy sound.. They're much better sounding than the majority of similary priced speakers in my opinion, and can outperform even more expensive ones,M.Audio pcm 703 for instance, because they are realistic and unfatiguing at the same time-even with my audiolab 8000s,a dynamic and unforgiving amplifier! Only the bass drivers'size hold them from scoring in parties as well,but..well in greece we sometimes think we can have it all!!
Strengths: natural sound Weaknesses: not capable of excessive volumes with complex sounding matterial Similar Products Used: monitor audio ma14 gold mk2

Review 4 of 10 Summary: It is really a shame that this speaker isn't widely available in the United States. It puts some speakers costing twice its price to shame. I auditioned many models from the likes of B&W, Paradigm, and NHT, and none could match the shear cohesiveness and musicality of these speakers, not to mention the gorgeous finish. If you think high-end audio is only about special effects like "soundstaging" and the ability "place the musicians in the room with you" then this product is probably not for you. Sure, it will provide you with ample detail, transparency, soundstaging, and so on, but you'll soon forget about all these things and just start enjoying the music. It's all too easy to get caught up in the quantitative aspects of sound reproduction these days and forget that music is more than the sum of its parts. The good news is that these speakers are so well designed that they will probably mate comfortably with a wide range of electronics (both expensive and modestly-priced) as well as a wide range of musical tastes. I strongly recommend auditioning these speakers if the chance arises, in order to avoid spending vast amounts of time and money upgrading components in the future (unless this process of constantly upgrading and burning in new components is somehow exhilarating - I really get sick of it after a point). If you want a "professional" opinion on these speakers, see UHF (Ultra High Fidelity) Magazine's review in issue #53.
Other Equipment: Cambridge Audio CD4 Bryston B-60 Nordost Blue Heaven interconnects AudioQuest Slate speaker cable (bi-wire) Panamax 1000+ surge protector/line conditioner Strengths: Everything except thumping bass Weaknesses: Medium sensitivity, limited availability

Review 5 of 10 Summary: These speakers are a wonderful improvement from my centaurs, at an identical price I'm amazed. With about 1/2 an hour of placement work, these will open up to your liking. I would recommend using tubes with these speakers (if you can afford them!). E-mail me if you have any questions! Strengths: Sound quality, reproduction, and imaging Weaknesses: could use a bit more bass maybe Similar Products Used: Apogee centaur minors
