Summary:
I would like to compare the Bose MB4's with the Bose 502BP's since most disc jockey's using Bose professional products would be interested in one or the other. I would like to start by comparing the two speakers specs. 502BP 85lbs each MB4's 45lbs each. 502BP Max acoustic output 115db MB4 is 110db. 502BP 450 watts continuous MB4 is 200 watts continuous. 502BP 55-150hz the MB4 is 40-300. 502BP is non localized sound MB4 is localized. Both need a Panaray System Digital Controller. The 502BP's are heavier, almost two MB4's, handle more wattage but only go down to 55 where the MB4 goes down to 40hz. The 502BP is non localized sound so you can put it just about anywhere. The MB4 is localized sound so it must be placed near the mids and highs. (unless you change the crossover point) The MB4 was designed with coupling in mind, so every time you double a MB4 you get 6db more. 1 MB4 is 110db, 2 MB4's is 116db, 4 MB4's is 122db and 8 MB4's is 128db The 502BP is an acoustimass bass, it doesn't have the same coherent as a direct radiator speaker like the MB4. So coupling two 502BP's will only get a rise of 3db or so for a total of 118db. Four MB4's at 50hz is like 2 1/2 502BP's. So on paper to me before hearing either configuration, it looks like four MB4's stacked with the proper amplification would be louder, deeper, better sounding and easier to transport than 2 502BP's. Now in real life applications I have owned and used 2 502BP's and they are heavy, very loud, good clean bass, not super low though. I currently own four MB4's powered by a QSC PLX3402 power amplifier running 4ohms a side at 1,100 watts per ch. I have also used the MB4's 1X1 and 2X2 they sound clear and deep and better than the 502BP. To get theMB4's to sound good you need to use proper amplification and use them in numbers stacked. One MB4 will not give you the bass you are looking for in a mobile disc jockey enviroment. Stacking the MB4's against a wall or in a corner I have found to get the best sound. Two MB4's is equal to one 502BP. Incremental bass is nice you just stack the number of MB4's you need for the job. Larry M

Strengths:
Very portable, perfect for mobile disc jockey's one person handling. Go down to 40Hz, 200 wattts continuous power handling, Cabinet is well designed, speaker grill and carrying handles are very rugged, dual speakon connectors and 5 year warranty.

Weaknesses:
Plastic end caps are well made but are easy to scratch.

Moscode 402Au OLT stereo power amplifier Review

George is adamant about the fact that the Moscode 402Au is not just a tube gain stage slapped onto a solid-state power amplifier; rather, it is a tube amplifier with a MOSFET output stage.

Lowther’s DX-65 driver in the Teresonic Magus XR Review

A new driver from Lowther is real news. A new five inch driver is even rarer news, so it was with great anticipation that I waited on this pair of speakers to arrive.

Aune Mini Headphone DAC User Review

The unit arrived from China well packed and everything seem to be in place. No external abuse by the carriers. The only problem was the power supply it came with. The box came with a cheap step-down converter.
